Vineyard Wind Taps ThayerMahan for Subsea Survey
Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), announced a partnership with autonomous maritime solutions company ThayerMahan for seabed and infrastructure survey and inspection work in the waters off southern Massachusetts.Based in Groton, Conn., ThayerMahan, specializes in seabed surveys, acoustic mitigation and monitoring, and other maritime related services and has facilities in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Solstad Offshore Names New CFO
Norwegian offshore vessel provider Solstad Offshore has appointed Kjetil Ramstad as the CFO position. Ramstad comes from the position as Finance Director in Solstad Offshore and has worked for the company since 2018. Prior to joining Solstad Offshore, he was Finance Director and CFO for the DeepOcean group from 2008 to 2018. DeepOcean was established in 1999 and is dedicated to subsea services and operations in deep waters, able to take on deep-water assignments anywhere in the world. The company is an integrated service provider for the subsea industry. DeepOcean has a global track record of subsea services including Survey and Seabed-mapping, Subsea Construction and Installation, Seabed Intervention, IMR, and Decommissioning. Since its entry into the Brazilian offshore market, DeepOcean has accumulated extensive experience in deepwater operation, having become a preferred partner to national operator Petrobras, which is one of the few super-majors still awarding long-term contracts for subsea IMR and subsea construction & intervention.
DeepOcean Secures Statoil Subsea Contract
DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group, contracted to provide offshore light construction and survey services for Statoil. The estimated value of the contract is NOK 100-million. The frame agreement includes services covering light construction services, seabed mapping with hull mounted Multi Beam Echo sounder (MBE) and ROV based construction support, seabed mapping and pipeline inspection services. As part of this contract, Statoil has awarded DeepOcean a call-off for 6 month operations in 2014. The call-off further includes options to extend the firm period with up to 6 additional months. The project will be executed from the survey and light construction support vessel Volstad Surveyor and it will be managed by an onshore project team in DeepOcean’s Haugesund office.
Festive Season Subsea Contracts for DeepOcean
Within days of eachother Deep Ocean secures subsea offshore contracts in Australia, and in the North Sea. DeepOcean UK, Ltd., a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV, contracted by Statoil AS for the installation and trenching of a Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) System on the Snorre oil field in the North Sea, Norwegian Sector. The project represents DeepOcean UK’s largest ever contract award. The multi-year project commences in 2013 and consists of the installation and trenching of circa 500km of subsea seismic cables and associated riser in water depths in excess of 300m. Once installed, the large seismic monitoring array will assist Statoil in increasing oil recovery from the Snorre reservoir throughout the field’s life.

DeepOcean AS: LOI for Rig Demolition
DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding AS, DeepOcean has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) by AF Group in connection with their demolition and recycling contract for the H7 riser platform cessation project for Statoil, on behalf of Gassco as operator for Gassled. The platform is located at the German continental shelf of the North Sea, and has been a part of the pipeline which exports gas to Europe. The work covers planning, engineering and execution of subsea removal work on the jacket substructure as well as preparatory inspections and seabed intervention work offshore.
DeepOcean Wins Contract with Statoil
DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding AS DeepOcean AS has been awarded a one year option by Statoil for the vessel Edda Flora under the existing frame agreement for Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) the company holds with Statoil. DeepOcean Wins Statoil Decommissioning Contract
DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding AS, won a offshore removal and recycling contract by Statoil in connection with the removal of the SPM C loading buoy at the Statfjord field. The EPRD contract includes the Engineering, Preparation, Removal and Disposal (EPRD) of the SPM C Loading Buoy. The Work also includes an EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation) delivery of a Base Protection Structure to be installed on the field after the buoy has been removed. The buoy has a height of 181m and a gross weight of 8000 tonnes including ballast.
