Transocean 4Q Revenue Up

Transocean Ltd. Revenues were $1.85 billion, up from $1.61 billion in the third quarter of 2015; Operating and maintenance expenses were $794 million, down from $880 million in the prior period; Adjusted net income was $615 million, $1.68 per diluted share, excluding $4 million of net unfavorable items. - Contract backlog was $15.5 billion as of the February 11, 2016, Fleet Status Report. ZUG, SWITZERLAND-February 24, 2016-Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) (SIX: RIGN) today reported net income attributable to controlling interest of $611 million, $1.66 per diluted share, for the three months ended December 31, 2015. * $22 million, $0.06 per diluted share, related to restructuring costs; and $1 million in discontinued operations.

Streamlined Service for the Offshore Sector

In a business where time is money, Signal Ship Repair’s niche ‘high blocking’ repair methods have significantly reduced repair times and increased shipyard efficiencies. Utilizing a simple but highly effective shipyard technique, SSR has taken a routine practice originally used to facilitate naval ship drydockings, and turned it into a signature service that helps offshore clients with drop down thrusters, z-drives, pods and keel coolers get repairs done rapidly.

Signal International Announces Semisubmersible Contract

Signal International has been awarded a contract for the repair and upgrade of the Transocean semisubmersible rig, HENRY GOODRICH. The project is slated to commence early December 2011 at Signal’s east yard facility in Pascagoula, Mississippi, for a seventy-day out-of-service time frame. The scope of work includes overall repairs, upgrades and refurbishments of the rig. In addition to the removal, renewal and replacement of major equipment; Signal will also be upgrading the crew accommodations, expanding the lifeboat capacity, and renewing the coatings and piping. With prefabrication work underway, the project will enable Signal to employ an additional 300 craft personnel at the yard during peak production.

Signal International Completes Mobile Yard Renovations

Signal International Inc. recently completed a $9m yard and drydock renovation on its ship repair facility in Mobile, Alabama. Signal Ship Repair (SSR), the company’s most recent acquisition, is the flagship vessel repair and new construction division for ships, workboats, and tugs in the Signal family of yards. The facility upgrade project was completed ahead of schedule and ready for the Transocean Deepwater Navigator. The drillship has been at Signal’s Pascagoula yard for repairs and recently arrived at SSR’s Panamax drydock…

Signal Wins Transocean Drillship Project

Signal International, Inc. announced it has been awarded a contract from Transocean UK Limited, to refurbish and upgrade the Deepwater Navigator drillship. The initial contract is valued at $32.4m. The work is slated to be performed at Signal’s shipyards in Pascagoula, Miss. and Mobile, Ala. The drillship will arrive the second week in October at Signal’s East Bank shipyard in Pascagoula where an extensive list of repairs and upgrades will be performed. Major items include living quarters enhancements and refurbishment; the fabrication and installation of a new helicopter deck; high and low pressure pipe system replacement; major equipment removals and repair, ventilation system enhancements, and the upgrade of electrical power, communication and control systems.

Transocean Gets OK on Five Brazil-Based Rigs

Transocean Inc. said that the board of directors of Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) approved contract awards for five of the company's rigs totaling 19 rig years and an estimated $985 million in revenues, excluding revenues for mobilization, demobilization, performance bonus opportunities and client reimbursables. The contracts were approved for the drillships Deepwater Navigator and Peregrine I and semisubmersible rigs Sedco 707, Sedco 710 and Transocean Driller. Each rig is currently located in Brazil and all of the units with the exception of the Peregrine I are currently under contract to Petrobras. The contract approved for the Deepwater Navigator…
