Japanese FPSO leasing company MODEC said Wednesday that the FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32 had started its navigation towards Brazil last Sunday. Petrobras Orders $2.3B FPSO from Saipem, DSME JV

Italian offshore engineering and construction firm Saipem, in a joint venture with South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd (DSME), has won a contract with Brazil's Petrobras to build an FPSO for the Búzios offshore field in Brazil.The FPSO P-79 project is worth overall approximately $2.3 billion. Senegal Awards LNG, Oil Advisory Job to Doris Engineering

French engineering services provider Doris Engineering has been awarded an advisor contract by the Senegalese ministry of petroleum and energies for the development of oil & gas projects offshore Senegal.This two-year mission consists in reviewing the optimization and the robustness of the field development performed on these projects to be in line with the Ministry expectations. Four Companies Proceed with FPSO Chartering Project

MODEC, Inc., Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Marubeni Corporation have agreed that Mitsui, MOL and Marubeni will invest in a long-term charter business currently promoted by MODEC for the purpose of providing a floating production, storage and offloading system (FPSO) for use in the Carioca area of a pre-salt oil field off the coast of Brazil. The four companies have entered into definitive agreements today. Based on these agreements, Mitsui, MOL and Marubeni will invest in Carioca MV27 B.V., a Dutch company established by MODEC, and the Companies will proceed with the Project jointly. MV27 has signed a long-term chartering agreement for the deployment of the vessel by the BM-S-9 Consortium – Petrobras (45%), BG Group (30%) and Repsol Sinopec Brasil S.A. (25%).

Rolls Royce to Design, Power, Hi-tech Subsea Vessel

The versatile UT 737 CD vessel will support the most demanding subsea projects, including constructing and servicing oil and gas wells on the sea bed, up to 3,000 metres below sea level. In order to support such challenging missions the vessel will include special features, including two independent systems for launching and recovering Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV), a 125 tonne offshore crane that compensates for wave movements and an advanced offshore tower which handles subsea equipment through a large opening in the hull of the vessel, called a moon pool. Real-Time Anchor & Riser Monitoring System (RAMS) for FPSOs

Tritech has developed a system for the real-time integrity monitoring of mooring lines, umbilicals and risers on Floating Production Storage and Offloading Units (FPSOs).
