DESMI Ocean Guard’s BWTS is ATEX Certified
On June 9, 2016 DEKRA EXAM GmbH issued ATEX certificate for DESMI’s RayClean-EX ballast water treatment system. The certificate covers both the RayClean UV unit and the UV control panel powering the UV unit, and enables both these components to be installed in hazardous areas onboard tanker vessels like e.g. oil tankers, chemical tankers and gas carriers. The filter, valves and sensors in the RayClean system can also be delivered in ATEX certified version meaning that all components of the RayClean system except the main control panel can be installed directly in hazardous areas.
DEKRA Acquires NDT, PI & Microscopic Operations of DNV GL
The international expert organisation DEKRA has taken over the Plant Integrity (PI), Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and Microsopy operations from DNV GL (formerly KEMA) and as such is expanding its industrial operations in the Netherlands. A respective purchase agreement was signed by DEKRA and DNV GL on 8th of August 2014. The three units, employing together 24 experts, will be operating under the name DEKRA Material Testing & Inspection (MTI) in the new DEKRA buildings in Arnhem. MTI is concerned with the inspection and testing of capital-intensive and business-critical systems and materials. Customers include a large number of petrochemical, industrial and energy companies.
Wärtsilä BWMS Certified for Onboard Hazardous Areas
Wärtsilä inform that its AQUARIUS UV Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) has successfully completed verification testing for explosion proof (EX) requirements, enabling it to be operated for Zone 1 hazardous area operation in marine and offshore installations. IHC Pump Shaft Seal Acquires ATEX 95 Certificate
IHC Lagersmit acquires ATEX 95 certificate for its LIQUIDYNE pump shaft seal. IHC Lagersmit, part of IHC Merwede, has acquired the ATEX 95 registration for its LIQUIDYNE pump shaft seal. This registration signifies compliance with the European guidelines, which must be met in order for equipment to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. The ATEX 95 registration has been issued by DEKRA Certification, which judged and approved the Technical Construction File for the LIQUIDYNE series, types LDS, L2T and L3T.
