Bristow Commences New Contract in Barents Sea

Bristow Norway AS is commencing a previously announced five-year contract today (September 1, 2018), from its Hammerfest base. Bristow will provide helicopter offshore crew change services and search and rescue (SAR) services to support Eni Norway and Equinor."We are very proud of the recognition we have received in securing this work in the Barents Sea," said Area Manager Norway Heidi Wulff Heimark. "This confirms that the work our employees do every day brings results. The contract is an important part of our efforts to become the leading operator of offshore helicopters in Norway and globally."Bristow Norway has delivered helicopter services for Eni Norway and Equinor operations in the Barents Sea for the last nine years and is well established in Hammerfest.

Nor-Shipping Partners with ‘Lifesaver’ Mercy Ships

Leading maritime event week Nor-Shipping has announced that Mercy Ships has been selected as its new charity partner. The global organisation, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, will receive financial support and promotion throughout Nor-Shipping’s maritime and ocean industry network, supporting its vital work helping and healing those in need. Nor-Shipping 2019, taking place across a series of venues in Lillestrøm and Oslo between 04 – 07 June 2019, will help raise funds and awareness for Mercy Ship’s state-of-the-art Africa Mercy vessel. This, together with its three predecessors, has visited close to 600 ports since the charity formed, performing over 89,000 life saving operations and assisting more than 2.5 million people.

Bibby DSV to Conduct IRM for Maersk Oil U.K.

Aberdeen-based subsea installation contractor Bibby Offshore has secured a multi-million pound contract with Maersk Oil U.K. The agreement will see Bibby Offshore commit its Diving Support Vessel (DSV), Bibby Sapphire, to support  construction and inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) activities on Maersk Oil U.K.’s North Sea assets for a period of 365 continuous days, starting in early January 2014. DNV accredited for wind turbine certification in Korea

As the first international certification body DNV has received accreditation in Korea to deliver type and project certification of wind turbines and wind farms. Due to the accreditation from the Dutch Accreditation Council, DNV now has official approval to handle all aspects of the certification work using its local wind experts. This provides a number of advantages to Korean and Asian manufacturers. DNV’s team in Korea is accreted to handle type and project certification in accordance with IEC 61400-22 and DNV-OS-J101 standards. This new certification practice will result in a convenient and more cost-effective process for Korean and Asian manufacturers to achieve certification for their wind turbine and wind farm projects.
