Osprey Group Names Massey Head of Heavy Lift Division

Heavy Lift: Cryogenic Heat Exchanger Installed

The second of three planned Main Cryogenic Heat Exchanger (MCHE) installations at a large liquefaction project in southwest Louisiana marked a milestone for the U.S. Gulf Coast project. Heavy lift and transportation services provider Mammoet used 40 axle-lines of Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) to transport the equipment to the installation site. Five Large Cranes Delivered to Bulgaria and Egypt

HANSA HEAVY LIFT has transported five Gottwald mobile harbor cranes, weighing a total of 1,400 metric tonnes, loading them in Denmark and Belgium and delivering them to Bulgaria and Egypt. All five cranes were lifted and stowed fully-erected on deck, which limited the line of sight for the crew aboard HHL Rio de Janeiro, requiring an extra radar scanner to be installed on the foremast. Extra risk assessments were also carried out prior to commencing the voyage, in order to fully comply with all local and flag regulations.

Wagenbourg New Crane for Oil, Gas, Energy Sector

Wagenborg Nedlift has expanded her crane fleet with a brand new 700 tonnes mobile crane. With this crane the fleet is significantly strengthened. Equipped with the most innovative features in the technical area as well as safety, this crane is highly suitable for lifting operations in the petrochemical, oil & gas and energy sector. This DEMAG AC-700 is a 9-axle crane with impressive dimensions. The crane has a 60 meters main boom and can carry a maximum of 160 tonnes counterweight. It is also possible to equip the crane with 36 meters main boom extension, 50 meters fixed fly jib and 96 meters luffing fly jib. With these features a lifting height of around 150 meters can be realized. The crane is also equipped with a so called SSL (Sideways Super Lift).

Mississippi Floating Crane Fleet Expanded

Associated Terminals LLC in Louisiana/USA is expanding its fleet of machines with its seventh Gottwald Floating Crane. A Generation 5 Model 8 crane variant will be starting commercial operation this month and will be one of the highest performance Floating Cranes handling bulk materials on the Mississippi. Currently, six Gottwald Floating Cranes supplied by Demag Cranes are in operation with Associated Terminals LLC ensuring smooth, efficient cargo handling. “On the Mississippi, in particular, where quay facilities are few and far between, we intend to use the new Gottwald Floating Crane to improve our versatility in terms of midstream cargo handling”, explained Gary Poirrier, Director of Associated Terminals LLC.
