The Ferretti 570 wins award as  best motor yacht below 60 ft in length at the 2012 Xiamen International Boat Show. GL Nobel Denton Expands Safety and Risk Services

GL Noble Denton has expanded its safety and risk services to the Norwegian oil and gas market through a new strategic partnership with Stavanger-based consultancy, XAFE. The cooperation will allow both businesses to meet a growing demand for risk analysis, technical safety, and HSE management services from companies operating in the Norwegian and UK North Sea. Under the agreement, experienced local GL Noble Denton and XAFE engineers will deliver leading-edge safety engineering solutions and consultancy to a wide range of clients, supported by GL Noble Denton's worldwide team of senior safety experts. Trelleborg Builds Platform for Growth in India

Trelleborg is increasing its physical presence and customer support in the Indian market with the opening of multiple new facilities in 2011 and more in 2012. Establishing a platform for local presence and expansion across a wide variety of industries, Trelleborg now has several facilities in the region with its Trelleborg Engineered Systems, Trelleborg Automotive and Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business areas all having either a manufacturing facility or head office in the country.

Trelleborg Marine Systems Centralizes in India

The regional offices of Trelleborg Marine Systems have in-house engineering capability, provide initial specification and front end applications engineering. The more detailed engineering design, modelling and analysis engineering for projects are sent to the Indian centre of excellence for progressing forward. Scott Smith, Regional Director for Trelleborg's Asia Pacific region, said: "We have very high expectations for the performance of the improved engineering and design centre in Ahmedabad.

Center Praised for Helping Industry

The man at the helm of the biggest shipbuilding company has praised a North-East marine design facility for its efforts to tackle a skills issue that threatens to subdue the region's thriving sector, the Northern Echo said. Alan Johnston, chief executive of BVT Surface Fleet - a joint venture between BAE Systems and VT Shipbuilding - hailed the Marine Design Centre, in , as playing a potentially crucial role in recruitment and training. Garware Offshore Inks MoU With Havyard Leirvik

arware Offshore Services in association with Norway-based Havyard Leirvik AS signed a memorandum of understanding for marketing and sale of ships built by Havyard Leirvik A.S. and ship designs produced by Havyard Maritime A.S., a part of the Havyard Group to Indian shipping companies and Indian yards. Consequent to signing the MoU, the company and Havyard Maritime A.S. have obtained an order for 4 nos. Havyard 842 design from ABG Shipyard Ltd.India. This would result in new revenue segment for the company. The company anticipates a tremendous growth in this segment, considering the pool of software design talent available in the country and the experience and knowledge that company has in offshore and shipping industry.

Torpedo and Missile Attack Vessel Launched in Italy

The ship was launched at the Riva Trigosa yard in Genoa on October 14, 2005, three years after the first plate was cut. Biraghi said “the plan put into action in the last few years in an extremely decisive manner will make available a fleet which is smaller but of the highest level. Delivery of the Andrea Doria is planned for the beginning of 2008. The ship was designed and built with funds from the navy budget and is the first of two vessels of the Orizzonte class commissioned at Fincantieri.
