Damen InvaSave BWSM Makes World Premiere

On April 25 Damen’s IMO certified InvaSave ballast water management system (BWMS) received its world premiere in front of an invited audience courtesy of Groningen Seaports at the harbour of Delfzijl and Eemshaven, The Netherlands. This marks the culmination of a seven-year program to develop an effective mobile BWMS for use in ports. The premiere was a joint presentation between Damen Shipyards, the designated operator MariFlex and Groningen Shipyards, as well as Royal Wagenborg. This was the first time that the InvaSave has been used by a commercial operator.

Fastnet to Farm in Tendrara Lakbir

Fastnet, the UK and Irish listed E&P company focussed on near term exploration and appraisal acreage in Morocco and the Celtic Sea, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Pathfinder Hydrocarbon Ventures Limited (Pathfinder) has entered into an amended exclusive option agreement with Oil and Gas Investments Funds (OGIF) (the "Option Agreement"), in relation to eight Exploration Permits comprising the Tendrara Lakbir Petroleum Agreement (the Tendrara Licence) onshore Morocco. Following substantive negotiations with its partner OGIF, Fastnet has secured improved commercial terms from those previously announced on 29 May 2013. ·     The deadline to drill the first well has been extended from 30 September 2014 to 21 April 2015.

Director Watson Leads Deepwater O&G Containment Exercise

As part of the Obama administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the oil and gas industry’s ability to respond in the event of a deepwater blowout and ensure that offshore oil and gas production can continue to expand safely and responsibly, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Director Jim Watson launched an unannounced exercise to deploy critical pieces of state-of-the-art well control equipment to the ultra-deep seabed of the Gulf of Mexico. Island Oil & Gas Wins Q13b Exploration License

Island Oil & Gas Plc. said it has won the Q13b exploration licence from the Dutch government, valid for five years. The minister of economic affairs of the awarded the license to Island Netherlands B.V., a wholly owned unit of Island Oil, and , the designated operator, will hold a 100 percent working interest in the license. Island Oil intends to split the license into a shallow (oil) and deep (gas) part, with Island Oil operating the shallow part with a 100 percent interest and Cirrus Energy Nederland B.V. operating, on behalf of its partner Petro-Canada Netherlands B.V., the deep part in which Island Oil will have no equity interest. Neptune Start-Up Delayed by Hull “Anomolies”

The Neptune TLP, which is located approximately 120 miles off the Louisiana coastline, was scheduled to start up first oil and natural gas production by the end of March and the company is currently assessing all the options in order to re-commence start up activities. The schedule for first production will be updated. BHP Billiton is designated operator of the field with a 35 per cent interest. Partners include Marathon Oil Company (30 per cent), Woodside Energy (USA) Inc. (20 per cent), a subsidiary of Woodside Petroleum Ltd., and Maxus (U.S.) Exploration Company (15 per cent). Neptune is a single-column TLP and was installed in 4,250 feet (1,300 meters) of water on Green Canyon Block 613.

Military Uses for High-Speed Vessels

These uses include leisure travel and tours and mass transportation of passengers and vehicles. In recent years, the U.S. military has joined the ranks of high-speed vessel users by introducing U.S.-built aluminum twin-hull high-speed vessels for use as Theater Support Vessels (TSVs) and for training exercises. BHP Billiton Acquires Exploration and Production Rights

BHP Billiton announced that it has acquired an interest in 14 exploration and production licenses offshore the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic. The Company signed contracts with Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (FOGL) for rights to explore and, if successful, eventually produce oil and gas from the East Falkland Basin located off the southern and eastern coast of the Falkland Islands. BHP Billiton holds a 40 per cent interest in the acreage and is the designated operator. Falkland Oil and Gas Limited hold the remaining 60 percent interest. The production licenses cover approximately 18 million acres and are located in water depths ranging from approximately 656 to 6,570 feet (approximately 200 to 2,000 meters).

Island Oil & Gas Wins Two New Licenses

Island Oil and Gas PLC said it has been granted two new licenses offshore Ireland. One license covers blocks in the Southern Slyne Trough. Island Oil, the designated operator, and Lundin Petroleum AB will each hold a 50 percent interest in the newly named Inishmore Licence. The second award is the newly named Inishowen licence in the Donegal Basin. Again, Island is the designated operator with a 40 pct stake, while Lundin will hold 40 pct and Endeavour Energy 20 pct.
