KDI Delivers DP Simulators to MOL in Tokyo

Kongsberg Digital (KDI) has delivered a full mission K-Sim Dynamic Positioning (DP) Simulator to MOL Marine & Engineering (MOLMEC) for the new MOL Dynamic Positioning Training Centre (MOL DPTC) in Tokyo, Japan. MOL DPTC is the first DP training center in Japan to be accredited by the Nautical Institute (NI) to provide NI-approved dynamic positioning training courses.ā€œWe Installed Kongsberg DP simulator and were able to open a quality DP training center in Tokyo, Japanā€ said Nakashima Takashi, President, MOL Marine and Engineering Co., Ltd.

Bulgarian Naval Academy Acquires VSTEP Simulators

On the 6th of August 2016, the official opening ceremony for The Centre for Integrated Management and Monitoring of the Coastal Zone was inaugurated by Mr. Boyko Borisov, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria. At the opening ceremony were present the Rector of the Academy, Commodore Prof. DSc Boyan Mednikarov and Deputy Chief of Educational and Scientific Activities, Captain Prof. Dr Kalin Kalinov. Among the official guests were parliament members from the Bulgarian government, representatives of other Bulgarian authorities, members of the military, ambassadors and representatives of the maritime industry. K-Sim Engine Chosen for Malaysia's Defense University

The National Defense University of Malaysia has selected Kongsberg Maritimeā€™s Engine Room Simulator platform K-Sim Engine for its facility in Kuala Lumpur. The contract, Signed in April 2015, was won with support from Kongsberg Maritimeā€™s local sales representatives, Kelana Stabil (M) Sdn Bhd and civil contracting partner HJS Maritime Sdn Bhd. It comes just five months after the installation of a K-Sim Polaris ship's bridge simulator by Kongsberg Maritime at the University. Kā€¦

NAUTIS Desktop Simulators installed at Aigua Sea School

The Aigua Sea School in Mallorca purchased multiple NAUTIS Desktop Trainers to provide advanced simulator training for its students. The NAUTIS Desktop Trainers were delivered and installed by VSTEP at the Aigua headquarters in Palma. The Aigua Sea School has two training bases in the Mediterranean, with its headquarters in Palma de Mallorca and another school in Malta. TU Varna Receives Training Certification

Following a compliance audit, the simulation center of the TU Varna was officially certified by the European Maritime Administration in Bulgaria to provide maritime training in full compliance with the latest STCW and IMO regulations. All simulators at the TU Varna Center are delivered by VSTEP and include NAUTIS FMB and NAUTIS Desktop simulators as well as Engine Room Simulators. The TU Varna simulation center is now certified to provide approved training for bridge team and resource managementā€¦

STC Buys NAUTIS Simulator Classroom

The Egyptian River Transport Authorities (RTA), receiving party in The Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education project funded by the Netherlands, and STC Group as delivering party, purchased a classroom of NAUTIS Desktop Simulators to enhance the curriculum for its inland waterways training at the Regional Institute for River Transport (RIRT). The six NAUTIS simulators were delivered and installed by VSTEP at the RIRT headquarters in Caïro. The River Transport Authorities (RTA) is the main governmental body in charge of supervision of all transportation on the domestic waterways in Egypt. The RTA provides professional education and training through RIRT for the inland navigation personnel and trainees at its premises in Cairo.

Headway Seacrest Orders Full Kongsberg Simulator Package

The Headway Seacrest Maritime Foundation Inc., a maritime training facility based in Cebu City, Philippines has ordered a complete package including shipā€™s bridge, engine room and cargo handling simulators, instructor training and formal support from Kongsberg Maritime. The contract represents a ā€˜Full Pictureā€™ delivery and was signed on 26th February 2013, with all new simulators to be installed within seven months. Royal Australian Navy Opens KONGSBERG Simulator Training In Sydney

Warship handling and anti-piracy training capabilities boost for RAN. The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) opened its recently upgraded ship's bridge simulator training facility at HMAS Watson in Sydney on 25th March 2011. Featuring a host of new full mission and desktop simulators from Kongsberg Maritime, the new facility represents one of the most advanced naval training centres in the world and will be used by RAN cadets to learn to pilot the next generation of warships, alongside a wide range of critical training applications, including anti-piracy.

KMSS Receives New Contracts

Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems (KMSS) has announced a buoyant period for its training and simulation division. They have recently received contracts from the Canadian Coast Guard College, the Navy Academy in Taiwan and the AMA Computer College in the Philippines. KMSS has also opened a new training centre on its site in Horten, Norway. system from KMSS. giving students the opportunity to train from home and even on board ship.
