Hyundai Samho Delivers Diamond Gas Victoria LNG Tanker

Japan's NYK Line said Wednesday it had, as part of Diamond LNG Shipping 6 consortium, taken delivery of the Diamond Gas Victoria LNG gas carrier.The LNG carrier will transport LNG from British Columbia for the LNG Canada project, as well as from other locations around the world, under a long-term time-charter contract with Diamond Gas International, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), which has a stake in the LNG Canada project.The vessel was built at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and is owned by NYK, Asia LNG Transport Dua Sdn. Bhd.

Shipbuilding: LNG Carrier Diamond Gas Crystal Delivered

On May 31, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Diamond Gas Crystal, was delivered, built to transport LNG from LNG Canada project in British Columbia, as well as from other locations around the world, under an 18-year time-charter contract with Diamond Gas International Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) who also has a stake in the LNG Canada project.The ship was built at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and is owned by NYK, Asia LNG Transport Dua Sdn. Bhd. (ALT Dua), and MC through the joint venture Diamond LNG Shipping 5 Pte. Ltd.

Santos, BW Offshore Sign $4,6B Barossa FPSO Deal

Australian oil and gas company Santos has signed a contract with FPSO supplier BW Offshore for the delivery of an FPSO for the Barossa gas field, located 300 kilometers offshore Darwin in Australia. The contract is subject to Final Investment Decision (FID) by Santos and its partners, with the FID expected in the coming weeks.The Lease and Operate contract has a firm period of 15 years, with 10 years of options. MISC, NYK and Mitsubishi Partner for the LNG Canada Project

MISC Berhad (MISC) through its subsidiary have signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) to co-own two newbuild LNG vessels mainly for the LNG Canada project.Both LNG carriers have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters (cbm) and are currently being built by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI). The first Sayaringo STaGE type LNG carrierMitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MHIMSB) delivered the first Sayaringo STaGE type liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, named Diamond Gas Orchid in June, 2018. The Sayaringo STaGE, which was developed based on MHIMSB's cutting-edge technology, has a continuous cover over the cargo tanks, a feature inherited from its predecessor the “Sayaendo”, and while keeping this merit, incorporates apple-shaped MOSS-type cargo tanks and a twin-shaft hybrid propulsion system “STaGE” plant, enhancing economic efficiency, environment friendliness, and versatility.

NYK in Charter Agreement with Mitsubishi

Japanese shipping and logistics giant Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) has signed long-term contracts with Diamond Gas International Pte. Ltd. (DGI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) located in Singapore, for DGI to charter from NYK three newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.Previously, NYK concluded long-term time-charter contracts for three new LNG vessels for MC’s Cameron LNG project, so these most recent contracts bring the total to six carriers for MC.The NYK Group will be responsible for ship management for the three ordered LNG carriers, one which is scheduled to be delivered in 2020. For about 18 years, that ship will transport LNG from the U.S.

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Holds Christening for Next-Gen LNG Carrier

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held the christening ceremony for a next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier under construction for a joint venture of Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line). The ship, named "Diamond Gas Rose", is the second "Sayaringo STaGE" type vessel, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding's newest carrier that achieves significant improvements in both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance through adoption of a more efficient hull structure and an innovative hybrid propulsion system.

A naming ceremony was held for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, Diamond Gas Orchid, at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.’s Nagasaki Shipyard.The newbuild, owned by Diamond LNG Shipping 1 Pte. Ltd., a 50/50 joint venture company between NYK and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), will sail under a long-term time-charter contract with MC’s wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore, Diamond Gas International Pte. Ltd.After delivery on June 29, 2018, the ship will transport LNG from Louisiana in the U.S.

NYK to Jointly Own LNG Carrier for Cameron Project

NYK, the Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), Toho LNG Shipping Co., Ltd. (Toho LNG Shipping), and Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. (Tohoku Electric Power) will participate in the joint ownership of a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel for the Cameron LNG project in the U.S. through the jointly owned company Diamond LNG Shipping 3 Pte. Ltd. (DLS-3). In December 2015, MC reached agreement on a shipbuilding contract with MI LNG Company Limited in addition to a heads of agreement for time-charter party with Diamond Gas International Pte. Ltd.Then in May 2016, MC established a vessel owning company, DLS-3, on the assumption of LNG vessel co-ownership with NYK, Toho LNG Shipping, and Tohoku Electric Power.

NYK Orders Three LNG Carriers

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) has concluded time-charters for two new LNG carriers with Diamond Gas International, a Singapore affiliate of Mitsubishi Corporation. NYK also concluded a contract with MI LNG Company Limited for the construction of the LNG carriers, the company said in its press release. The ships will haul gas from the Cameron LNG (liquefied natural gas)  project in Louisiana in the US to Asia, primarily Japan. These new ships will be delivered in 2018 and assigned to transport LNG for the Cameron LNG Project in the U.S. state of Louisiana which Mitsubishi Corporation under the ship management by NYK. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has confirmed that it has won an order for two ‘Sayaringo STaGE,’ a next-generation LNG carriers, for delivery NYK Line.

Russian LNG Export Plant to Award 3-cargo Tender

Russia's Sakhalin II liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant will soon award a sell tender for three cargoes loading in August, two trade sources said. The cargos have been offered to long-term buyers and stakeholders in the project, not to the wider market, the sources said. One of the sources said the tender, which was launched last week, is likely to be awarded this week. Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom owns a 50 percent share in Sakhalin II, with Shell owning 27.5 percent, Japan's Mitsui 12.5 percent and Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Gas 10 percent.
