Second Int’l Maritime eLearning Conference

The 2nd Annual International Maritime eLearning Conference is being held between July 20 and 23 in Easton, Md. at the Calhoon MEBA Engineering School (CMES). Our attendees will be shipping company executives, maritime training institution administrators and educators, as well as private maritime education providers. At CMES, we train maritime officers for certification to International Maritime Organization standards, as regulated by our Port State Authority, the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Additionally, we currently have the only USCG approved Distance Learning System for training and certification to these international standards.

KMSS Receives New Contracts

Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems (KMSS) has announced a buoyant period for its training and simulation division. They have recently received contracts from the Canadian Coast Guard College, the Navy Academy in Taiwan and the AMA Computer College in the Philippines. KMSS has also opened a new training centre on its site in Horten, Norway. system from KMSS. giving students the opportunity to train from home and even on board ship. Navy Academy in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. station and 4 student workstations. replaces an already existing system installed by KMSS in 1996. Installation and training of personnel took place at the end of September. during October. site in Horten. and Bridge and Engine/Cargo simulators. the new training centre at KMSS. products. training courses on board ship.
