Damen Delivers Workboat to Leask Marine
Damen Shipyards Group has delivered a Multi Cat 2712 to Orkney-based Leask Marine. The vessel has been delivered just six weeks following contract; a result of Damen’s series building philosophy. Dive Support Vessel Delivered in Brazil
Oceanicasub V, the second of a pair of 43m Monohull Subsea Dive Support Vessels (SDSV), has been delivered for owner and operater Oceanica of Rio de Janeiro for charter by Petrobras. Oceanicasub V was constructed by Arpoador Shipyard in Guaruja’, Brazil. The design is the culmination of a close collaboration by the designer Incat Crowther, builder and operator. The RINA-classed vessel is equipped for a crew complement of 36 and features an array of dive support equipment including deck crane, ROV A-frame, dive bell A-frame, hyperbaric chamber, HIPAP, rescue/workboat with associated davit and all necessary dive operations related spaces and equipment.
Offshore Salvage of Barge 100 ft Down Succeeds
Inland Salvage Inc. Inland Salvage Inc. recently conducted offshore salvage operations 40 nautical miles southwest of Eugene Island, LA, successfully raising an anchor barge that sank in approximately 100 feet of water. They were called upon by the vessel's owner to develop and execute a safe and expedient salvage plan to recover the anchor barge which went down during high seas in the Gulf of Mexico. SI's Salvage Management Team quickly developed a salvage plan, taking into consideration the casualty's location and giving special attention to weather forecasts calling for offshore conditions to deteriorate within the next 96 hours. Plans were submitted, reviewed and approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Bollinger Completes Conversions on Dive Support Vessels
Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., has performed conversions and modifications to three separate dive support vessels for EPIC Divers & Marine. The first of the three conversions was completed on the 220-ft. x 45-ft x 21-ft dynamically positioned (DP) Class II Dive and ROV support vessel EPIC Diver at the Bollinger Algiers location. The EPIC Diver is one of the newest acquisitions to the EPIC fleet and will be their primary DP and ROV support vessel. While at Bollinger the vessel renewed her regulatory status and documentation, received DP system upgrades with the installation of the L3 Communications (Nautronix) NMS 6000 Duplex DP System, while taking on the new colors and name EPIC Diver. The vessel is ABS Certified, DPII, and SOLAS.
Oceaneering Acquires New Vessel
Oceaneering International, Inc. (OII) has purchased the Gulf Quest for conversion into a 145-ft. dive support vessel. Built in 2001, and renamed the Ocean Quest, the vessel will be upgraded in spring 2003 and then become available for work in the Gulf of Mexico. When completed it will feature: 2,100 sq. ft of deck space, 24 person accommodations (in addition to vessel crew), dive support equipment installed below deck, marine rated API 10 ton crane on the stern, 24 hr. operational capacity and built-in, below deck, 6 X 6 jet pump After conversion, the Ocean Quest will be ideally suited for Inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) activities on pipelines & platforms in water depths down to 300 fsw.

Master Boat Builders has successfully completed a vessel conversion contract for Oceaneering International, Inc. Ocean Quest, built in 2001 as the Gulf Quest, has been upgraded and converted into a 145-ft. (44.1-m) dive support vessel featuring: 2,100 sq. ft of deck space; Live boating capabilities; 24 person accommodations (in addition to vessel crew); Dive support equipment installed below deck; Marine rated API 10 ton crane on the stern; 24 hr. operational capacity; Built-in, below deck, 6 x 6 jet pump. Working in the Gulf of Mexico, Ocean Quest is ideally suited for Inspection, Maintenance, & Repair (IMR) activities on pipelines & platforms in water depths down to 300 fsw.
