Beltov Joins DNV Petroleum Services

DNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS) has appointed Tejs Beltov as the new Chief Operating Officer for Europe. Beltov, who joined the company on May 1, 2014, replaces Bill Stamatopoulos who has taken on a new challenge as Group Commercial Director. Stamatopoulos will develop and execute the company’s commercial and marketing strategy, manage customer relationships and drive business development. Beltov is a graduate of the Technical University of Denmark with extensive experience in the maritime industry.

IK Investment Partners to Acquire DNV Petroleum Services

Funds managed by IK Investment Partners (IK) have entered into an agreement with the Norwegian foundation Det Norske Veritas (DNV), to acquire its subsidiary DNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS), a global company in fuel management services. Financial details for the transaction were not disclosed. Founded by the Norwegian foundation DNV in 1981, DNVPS is a leading global provider of fuel management services for the maritime and power sectors with customers including ship owners, managers and charterers as well as power plant operators.

LNG Bunkering – Singapore Sets Up Joint Industry Project

A Joint Industry Project (JIP), co-funded through MPA’s MINT fund, is aimed to provide recommendations to the Singapore government authorities on enabling LNG bunkering in Singapore, ensuring operational safety, alignment with industry expectations and best practice, and compliance with relevant international rules, regulations and standards. Adams, Chief Executive of IBIA

Ian Adams has been appointed the first ever Chief Executive of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) following the decision to change from a 25-member Council of Management to an executive structure headed by a Board of Directors. Adams was formerly Secretary-General of IBIA which, since its formation in 1993, has been governed by a Council of Management. The decision to restructure was unanimously agreed by members at the IBIA convention in Cape Town in November last year.

DNVPS Opens Lab in Algeciras

DNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS) officially opened its new specialist fuel laboratory in Algeciras, Spain, as part of the company’s strategy to reduce simple transit time and speed up the release of fuel testing results for ships taking bunkers in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. The sixth fully owned testing facility in the DNVPS network, DNVPS Algeciras caters for vessels calling at Algeciras and nearby ports, such as Gibraltar, Ceuta, Almeria, Cadiz, Huelva and Malaga. Its location helps reduce sample transit time, typically ranging from one to three days, to a matter of hours. DNVPS managing director Rex Lim said that expediting sample delivery is crucial in situations where a vessel has received an off-specification fuel.
