Anglo-Eastern Celebrates 40th Anniversary

On September 4th, Anglo-Eastern celebrate it’s 40th Anniversary, in Hong Kong, concluding with an evening of fun, at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum. Among a host of VIPs, both local and international, Mr. & Mrs. Evert Maréchal, The Consul General of Belgium, along with the Consul General of Japan, Mr Hitoshi Noda and the Consul General of India, Mr. Ravi Sinha & Mr Prashant Agrawal together with the Director of the HK Marine Department, Mr Michael W.L. Wärtsilä To Supply for Massive SemiSub Heavy Lift Vessel

Wärtsilä  has been awarded the contract to supply a total propulsion package for a new semi-submersible heavy lift vessel. With an overall length of 270 m, this ship is the largest of its type ever to be built. The scope of supply for the contract specifies two Wärtsilä 6L38 engines and two Wärtsilä 12V38 engines for the ship's main propulsion, and one Wärtsilä 6L20 auxiliary engine. Wärtsilä will also supply the reduction gear system, two controllable pitch propellers, two retractable thrusters and one bow thruster. The equipment has been ordered by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co.

Master Marine Completes Jack-Up L205

The project teams of Nymo Yards and Master Marine recently presented Jack-Up L205. The vessel arrived Eydehavn in Norway on August 2 for hook up and final commissioning before mobilizing for Ekofisk Field and the client ConocoPhillips. The vessel will be the North Sea’s largest jack up accommodation unit with 447 single cabins. It has been customized and outfitted to meet ConocoPhillips and the authorities’ requirements for a state-of-the-art accommodation unit on Ekofisk field. This delivery marks an important milestone in the history of Master Marine. It is the first of two innovative jack-up construction vessels that the company ordered in 2007. The L205 has been transported to Norway by Dockwise Shipping B.V.’s heavy lift vessel Treasure.

Dockwise concludes $84M Vyborg/Shtokman Contract

Dockwise Ltd. announces that through its subsidiary, Dockwise Shipping B.V., it has been contracted by Vyborg Shipyard to transport two topside structures from Korea to the Barents Sea and to install the units on semi-submersible hulls, using the float-over technique. Dockwise will receive $84M over the three year contract, with the revenue contributing immediately to fourth quarter 2008 cashflows. Vyborg Shipyard was commissioned by Gazflot (the operating arm of Gazprom) to construct two platforms designed for operation in the arctic conditions of the giant new Shtokman field, 600 km offshore . Jack-up Rig Gorilla VII Loaded in Rotterdam

The Rowan Gorilla VII Jack-up rig that was built by the Marathon LeTourneau Super Gorilla was loaded in the , The Netherlands, on board Mighty Servant 1. The operation started at 7.00 A.M. and the Rowan Gorilla VII was in position and lifted out of the water. The Mighty Servant 1 will depart for . After its voyage the Gorilla VII Jack-up rig will be discharged in . The Jack-up rig is operated by Rowan Companies Inc. The Rowan Gorilla VII is both a very large and heavy cargo: its overall length is 121.43 meters.

World’s Largest Dry Transport Vessel Delivered

Heavy transport shipping company Dockwise Shipping B.V. took delivery of the M/V Blue Marlin after her conversion into the world's largest semi-submersible heavy transport vessel able to carry heavy cargoes up to 73,000 tons. After a conversion of 3 months at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea the heavy transport vessel Blue Marlin has re-joined the Dockwise fleet with an increased deadweight capacity of 76,061 tons. The beam has been increased by 21 m, which results in an increased unobstructed deck area of 11,227 sq. m (63 m wide x 178.2 m long).

News: World's Largest Dry Transport Vessel Delivered

Heavy transport shipping company Dockwise Shipping B.V. took delivery of the M/V Blue Marlin after her conversion into the world's largest semi-submersible heavy transport vessel able to carry heavy cargoes up to 73,000 tons. After a conversion of three months at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Blue Marlin has re-joined the Dockwise fleet with an increased deadweight capacity of 76,061 tons. The beam has been increased by 21 m, which results in an increased unobstructed deck area of 11,227 sq. m (63 m wide x 178.2 m long). The propulsion system of the vessel has been upgraded and extended with two Azimuth retractable propulsors, each 4.5 MW, to provide optimum manoeuvrability and seagoing characteristics while carrying ultra large cargoes.

Thunderhorse Arrives on Dockwise Ship

Dockwise Shipping B.V. today set a new record by delivering BP’s 59,500-ton semi-submersible Thunder Horse platform in Corpus Christi, USA. Already on June 19, 2002 Dockwise has been awarded the contract for the sea transportation of the largest semi-submersible PDQ (Production & Drilling Quarters) unit ever built of its kind by DSME in South Korea. The Thunder Horse PDQ is transported on the largest heavy transport vessel of the Dockwise fleet the m.v. Blue Marlin. After a smooth float-on loading operation of the Thunder Horse PDQ, the Blue Marlin has set sail on 23 July for the 15,813 n.m.
