Gaylin Plans for Growth in Vietnam

Singapore-headquartered Gaylin, a specialist supplier of lifting, rigging and marine equipment, said it has initiated a plan aiming to reposition its Vietnam facility to address changing trends in the local oil and gas, refining and chemical plant sectors. TRIYARDS Get US$77-million Order for Offshore Unit

Since the company began operations in 2005, TRIYARDS has been focusing on the construction of technologically advanced, high-specification, customised offshore support vessels that are larger and more sophisticated in terms of engine capacity, bollard pull and navigational equipment. The company operates out of its two yards in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City (TRIYARDS SSY) and Vung Tau (TRIYARDS SOFEL), as well as another in Houston, Texas, USA (TRIYARDS Houston). TRIYARDS Houston fabricates offshore equipment including cranes, A-frames and winches, which can be installed on the units and vessels built in the Vietnam yards. TRIYARDS SOFEL, the vessel construction yard, was established along Vietnam’s Dinh River at Dong Xuyen Industrial Park in 2009.

Mermaid Maritime Opens New Office

Denmark's Mermaid Maritime (Vietnam) Ltd. has opened its office in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province under a cooperation agreement between Vietnamese and Danish firms in the oil and gas industry. The event took place early this week on the occasion of a Vietnam visit by eight Danish offshore industry companies from October 9-13 to explore business opportunities. Mermaid Maritime (Vietnam) is located in Dong Xuyen Industrial Park. Though it was set up in October 2004, it has already become a market leader in marine and offshore safety equipment in Vietnam. The visit also takes in Hanoi and HCMC. The delegation is scheduled to join seminars aimed at looking into the prospects-for cooperation in the oil and gas industry. The seminars are arranged by the Danish embassy in cooperation with PetroVietnam.
