Offshore vessel provider Telford Offshore's offshore accommodation and hook-up unit Telford 28 was attacked earlier this week while anchored in Mexico. One crew member was injured.In an email sent to Offshore Engineer, Telford Offshore said: "We can confirm that the Telford 28 came under attack while anchored at Cuidad Del Carmen, Mexico on the evening of 14th April.""Mexican Navy responded quickly and attended vessel. All personnel are now safe, although one Telford crew member suffered injuries in the attack," Telford Offshore said.According to Telford Offshore, the injured crewmember was quickly transferred to hospital ashore and is recovering well. A Maersk Supply Service's offshore vessel was a target of an armed robbery in Mexico last weekend.Maersk Supply Service confirmed for Offshore Engineer that the incident occurred on Sunday, April 12 offshore Ciudad Del Carmen, Mexico.Armed robbers boarded Maersk Transporter, stole various items and left the vessel again, the company said in an email to Offshore Engineer.Maersk Supply Services COO Mark Handin said: "All crewmembers at the location are safe and accounted for, and there are no reports of injuries. Our primary concern remains the safety and wellbeing of our crew and all those affected by the situation. "We have set up crisis counseling for our employees. Oil tankers carrying around 10 million barrels of U.S. crude are en route to Asia, according to shipping data and trade sources, as U.S. producers take advantage of favorable prices to ship to the region while OPEC ponders further supply cuts next week. At least eight tankers are in transit, sources said and the shipping data in Thomson Reuters Eikon showed, with one of them carrying the first ever cargo of Southern Green Canyon crude purchased by Japanese refiner Cosmo Energy. Another contains the first Alaskan North Slope cargo to arrive in Asia in eight months.

Mexico's state-run oil company Pemex will increase crude exports to Japan in the coming months after selling several spot cargoes to customers including Cosmo Oil, JX Holdings and TonenGeneral, according to a company source and Thomson Reuters trade flows data. Pemex typically sends around 1 million barrels per month of Maya crude to Cosmo Oil under a supply agreement, but the company recently negotiated additional deliveries, the source said. The cargoes of Maya and Isthmus crudes will arrive in Japan from May through June after loading at Mexico's Dos Bocas and Salina Cruz terminals, according to Thomson Reuters data. Mexico's crude exports have fallen in recent months amid declining oil output.

Mexico's Gulf port of Coatzacoalcos in the state of Veracruz was closed on Friday due to 82 kilometer-per-hour winds spurred by a cold front, port authorities said in a Tweet on Friday.   Almost all of Mexican oil giant Pemex's crude exports are shipped from the ports of Dos Bocas, Cayo Arcas and Coatzacoalcos, en route to Gulf coast refineries in the U.S. states of Texas and Louisiana.   A powerful storm barreled toward Washington, D.C., on Friday, threatening to bury parts of the Middle Atlantic region under as much as 30 inches (76 cm) of snow and bring the nation's capital to a virtual standstill.     (Reporting by Anahi Rama; Editing by Simon Gardner)

Three of Mexico's major oil export ports along the Gulf coast have been closed due to bad weather, the Communications and Transport Ministry said on Tuesday.   Cayo Arcas, Dos Bocas and Coatzacoalcos have been closed since Sunday.   Nearly all of Mexico's crude exports from Pemex, the state-owned oil producer, are shipped from the three ports to Gulf coast refineries in the U.S. states of Texas and Louisiana.     (Reporting by Joanna Zuckerman Bernstein; Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)

On platforms remain toiling around 16 thousand workers whose activities are directly related to production. As reported in the morning, as a preventive measure, Petroleos Mexicanos further evictions of maintenance workers, support and ancillary services in the marine area. In total, 11 000 workers were evacuated from the 15,000 who had enlisted, who will return to their work when weather conditions permit.

Two of Mexico's three main oil exporting ports in the Gulf of Mexico, Dos Bocas and Cayo Arcas, were reopened on Wednesday after major storm Dolly was downgraded, the country's communications and transport ministry said in a statement. Dolly, which was previously a tropical storm, weakened to remnant status on Wednesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Mexico's third major oil hub, Coatzacoalcos, was never closed despite strong winds and rainfall associated with Dolly. The country's Tampico and Altamira ports, however, have been closed since Tuesday due to bad weather, the ministry added. Almost all of Mexico's crude oil exports are shipped to refineries on the Gulf Coast of the United States from the Dos Bocas, Coatzacoalcos and Cayo Arcas ports.

Stanford Marine announced today from its Dubai headquarters that it has secured a three-year contract for one of its 87-meter Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), Stanford Bateleur, in Mexico. Stanford Bateleur was awarded a long term contract with Mexiship in Mexico. Before commencing her long term charter in Mexico, Stanford Bateleur will be in Dubai to undergo some project specific modifications. The Bateleur has been working on charter in Malaysia with Haliburton and in Qatar with Maersk Oil, since her delivery in early 2013.

Ocean Dredging DSM Ocean inc., an Ocean sister company, will carry out a harbor dredging contract with its Mexican partner Dragados del Golfo, in Paraiso, a town located in the state of Tabasco in Mexico. The dredging of the port of Dos Bocas is a unique opportunity for Ocean and a first in Mexico. The dredging of the port of Dos Bocas will extend over a period of more than 60 days and a dozen Ocean employees will be required to carry out the work. The trailing suction hopper dredge Océan Traverse Nord will take 16-21 days to reach Mexico.

An OSV, a dredger and a landing craft have been recently added to the Dutch vessel delivery firm Redwise’s track record of completed ocean passages. The newly built landing craft  “ESNAAD 1010” of 1.334 gt and installed propulsion power of 1696 BHP was successfully delivered on her maiden passage during the monsoon season from the Sealink Yard at Miri (Malaysia) to Abu Dhabi (UAE). The newly built Offshore Support Vessel “OCEAN STAR”, departed from the yard at Guangzhou (China) on May 15th heading for her new homeport Dos Bocas (Mexico).

Redwise reported the successful repositioning of three ships globally, relocating an OSV, a dredger and a landing craft. The offshore support vessel Ocean Star, departed from the yard at Guangzhou, China on May 15 heading for her new homeport Dos Bocas, Mexico. The route took the vessel via great circle route across the Pacific Ocean to Panama Canal. Ocean Star safely arrived on the Caribbean side of Mexico on July 20 after a maiden voyage covering 10,676 nautical miles. The well-maintained and sturdy 1975 built dredger Sand Weaver  recently departed from the U.K. port of Swansea.

Damen Shipyards has delivered the ASD 3213 ‘Tanok’ to Colombian tug operator Intertug S.A. Intertug operates the country’s most modern tug fleet in terms of horsepower and fleet age. The Damen ASD 3213 has a bollard pull of 86.5 t and 80 t astern and is one of the most powerful harbor tugs in the world. In addition, Intertug ordered an ASD 3212, which will be delivered from Damen Shipyards Galati (Romania) at the end of May, 2012. The booming Latin American market meant that Intertug needed the vessel as soon as possible. Damen could offer a delivery time, from stock, of just two weeks.

Offshore Inland Marine, Industrial, Oilfield Services (OIS) has expanded their U.S. Gulf and Mexico Services with two new facilities. OIS has opened a new deepwater repair and fabrication facility in Pensacola, Fla., positioned as a Marine, Subsea, and Drilling Support Base. OIS is now operating out of a full service, deepwater support base in Dos Bocas, Mexico which adds to their office in Del Carmen, Mexico. OIS has been very active with subsea and marine fabrication and offshore projects.

In the latest in a succession of new launches, Inchcape Shipping Services has opened up additional offices in the Mexican ports of Coatzacoalcos, Dos Bocas and Ciudad del Carmen, on the Gulf of Mexico coast. ISS Regional Managing Director for North and Central America, Lars Westerberg, said “We commenced our operations in Mexico with a Greenfield operation with Octavio Armas as our Country Manager based in Mexico City. The Mexican economy is the 12th largest in the world and is forecast to become the sixth largest by 2050. Based on free market principles it is export-oriented and according to the World Bank, has the highest income per capita in Latin America in market exchange rates and the second in purchasing power parity.

Strong winds and choppy seas produced by a Gulf of Mexico cold front forced the closure of two of Mexico's main oil exporting ports on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. Pajaritos port, part of the Coatzacoalcos complex in eastern Veracruz state, was shuttered to oil tankers as waves crested at eight feet and winds blew at 30 to 33 miles per hour (50-55 km per hour), transportation officials said. The port of Dos Bocas, located in the southeastern state of Tabasco, was also closed but transportation officials did not provide conditions at the port. Mexico's two other ports - the Gulf port of Cayo Arcas in southeastern Campeche state and the Pacific facility of Salina Cruz in Oaxaca state - were both open on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mexican oil export facility at Pajaritos in eastern Veracruz state reopened to shipping traffic early on Thursday and the nation's three other oil ports were operating normally, said port officials. Pajaritos, part of the Coatzacoalcos complex, reopened at 6 a.m. (1200 GMT) as weather conditions improved, said an official at the captain's office. Winds were around 3 miles per hour (5 km per hour) and waves were between two and three feet, he said. The Gulf ports of Dos Bocas in southeastern Tabasco state and Cayo Arcas in nearby Campeche state were also open to shipping, said officials at the captain's office in each port. Salina Cruz on the Pacific coast was operating normally, said port officials.
