SAL Heavy Lift Charters Chinese Semi-sub Duo

SAL Heavy Lift said Friday it had chartered two modern semi-submersible deck carriers, the “Zhong Ren 121” and “Zhong Ren 122” on a long-term basis together with its partner Shanghai Salvage (China). "Both ships will be delivered in Shanghai between December 2023 and February 2024 and marketed through the Jumbo-SAL Alliance," Sal Heavy Lift said.“We don’t use the term ‘milestone’ lightly – but, in this case, it’s more than appropriate. This project is extremely important to us as a group, both commercially and strategically,” says Dr Martin Harren, CEO of SAL Heavy Lift and the Harren Group.

DEME Names Groenewind Offshore Wind Service Vessel

Belgian offshore installation company DEME Group last Friday held a naming ceremony for its DP2, twin-hulled Service Operation Vessel Groenewind. The Belgian Federal Minister of Energy, Tinne Van der Straeten was the godmother of the vessel, for which DEME says is the world's first vessel of the type.The Groenewind is set to enter service as the vessel has a long-term charter contract with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE). It will be used to transport technicians to the Rentel and SeaMade offshore wind farms in Belgium, operated by Otary.

Belgian offshore services contractor Deme saw the hull of its first-ever Service Operation Vessel (SOV) launched at the Cemre shipyard in Yalova, Turkey. DEME Unveils First SOV for Offshore Wind

Belgium-based offshore wind installation specialist Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV (DEME) has started building its first service operation vessel (SOV), which will be chartered by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) for work at three Belgian offshore wind farms (OWF).Concepted by DEME and further designed in close cooperation with Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam and Marin , this innovative vessel  significantly improves safety, comfort and workability for wind farm technicians even in the roughest sea conditions. World’s Largest LNG Bunker Supply Vessel Chartered

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplier Bomin Linde LNG said it has secured a capacity of 7,500 m3 LNG bunker supply vessel, the largest of its kind to date, via a time-charter contract signed with ship owner Bernhard Schulte on September 30, 2016. The vessel is chartered by a joint venture, established in November 2015, in which Bomin Linde LNG holds 90 percent. Otto Marine Sells AHTS for $100 mi

Otto Marine Limited sold an Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel to a renowned unrelated third party for US$100 million. DNV classed and Norwegian-designed, the VS491 21,000 bhp AHTS is a hybrid propulsion diesel electric driven vessel with dynamic positioning 2 (DP2) technology. It measures 91.5m in length and 22.5m wide and has a bollard pull of 240 to 260 tonnes. The Vessel can also operate and handle large rigs in the ultra-deepwater region including the harshest environments of the North Sea region. This AHTS is the 4th and final of the VS491 series the Group has built in this batch. It is currently under construction at Otto Marine’s shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, and is expected to be completed in 2Q2015.

Crowley Christens New Ocean Class Tugboat

As part of the company's new vessel build program, Crowley Maritime Corp. christened the latest of its four tugboats in the ocean class series, Ocean Sun, today in Lake Charles. The ceremony served to formally welcome the fourth dynamic positioning 2 (DP2) tugboat to the company’s expanded ocean towing fleet, which has been involved in most of the major offshore oil production installations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico over the past 18 months. Todd Busch, senior vice president and general manager of Crowley’s solutions group, opened the ceremony to approximately 80 guests.

Crowley Christens New DP2 Tugboat

Crowley Maritime Corp. said that the third of four tugboats in the Ocean-class series, Ocean Sky, has been christened in Houston. The ceremony served to formally welcome the third dynamic positioning (DP) tugboat to the company’s expanded ocean towing fleet, which has been involved in most of the major offshore oil production installations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico over the past 16 months. Todd Busch, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Crowley’s solutions group, opened the ceremony to approximately 140 guests. Following an introduction of the tug’s crew members and a blessing of the vessel by Father Sinclair Oubre, Jennifer Legg, Crowley’s assistant treasurer and vessel sponsor, broke the ceremonial bottle of champagne across the hull of the boat.

Otto Marine Send Two AHTS to GoM, One to W. Africa

Offshore marine services firm Otto Marine informs it has obained a total of US$24.9 million in charter contracts for three offshore vessels – Redfish 4, Go Canopus and Go Altair. Redfish 4, an 8,000bhp Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel equipped with dynamic positioning 2 capabilities will be deployed for work on long term charter in Mexico. Go Canopus, a 10,800bhp AHTS vessel built in 2009 with DP2 technology has been contracted on long term charter, also for work in the Gulf of Mexico.

Singapore's Otto Marine Charters Out PSV 'Sea Frost'

Otto Marine Limited confirm the time charter contract of their Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) - 'Sea Frost', for approximately US$8.0 million. Under the contract, which has recently commenced, Sea Frost has been contracted to support the Atwood Eagle rig located off the coast of Australia for a period of 152 days. Otto Marine add that the client has the option of extending the contract for an additional two terms based on the same terms and conditions. Completed in 2013, this vessel is the latest addition to the Group’s fleet, held under subsidiary Go Marine Group Pty Ltd.
