DSC Dredge Taps Dugan to Succeed Dolan as VP and CFO

Noble Buys New Jack-up from PaxOcean

London-based offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has bought a second newbuild Gusto MSC CJ46 design jack-up rig from the Singapore shipyard PaxOcean Group for $83.75 million. Like the Noble Johnny Whitstine, which the UK offshore driller purchased in September 2018 in connection with a Saudi Aramco contract, the newbuild CJ46 design jackup, to be named the Noble Joe Knight, was built at the PaxOcean Graha shipyard in Batam, Indonesia.The rig is built for operations in moderate drilling environments and is capable of operating in water depths of up to 375 feet, with well depths of 30,000 feet. Keppel to Deliver Semisub to Floatel

Keppel FELS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) is on track to deliver a fifth high-specification accommodation semisubmersible (semi) to Floatel International Ltd (Floatel) on time, on budget and with a perfect safety record. The semi, which is built to Keppel's proprietary SSAUTM 5000NG design, was named Floatel Triumph during a ceremony held earlier today. It will be chartered by INPEX Operations Australia for work in Ichthys Field, off Western Australia. Sembcorp Marine Posts 17% Fall in Q2

Low oil prices and muted sentiment in the industry continued to take a toll on Sembcorp Marine's second-quarter earnings. The rigbuilder has announced that net profit for the three months ended June 30 sank 17 per cent to to $79.58 million (SGD 109 million), compared to $96.37 million (SGD 132 million) a year ago. Turnover dipped 10 percent during this period to $882.0 million (SGD 1.208 billion) compared to $979.10 million (SGD 1.341 billion) in 2Q 2014. But this was offset by higher contribution from offshore and conversion projects as well as its ship-repair business. "The persistently low oil prices have escalated the ongoing cuts in global exploration and production capital expenditure.

EDS Makes Two Senior Appointments

Environmental Drilling Solutions (EDS), a provider of drilling waste management, solids control and backyard management solutions to the oil and gas industry, announced two senior-level additions to its management team: John Meckert as chief executive officer (CEO) and John Marty III as business development manager. Meckert joins EDS with 23 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily in oilfield services and drilling. He has spent most of his career at various divisions of Nabors Industries, the world’s largest land driller.

Keppel AmFELS Secures Mexican Jackup Order

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from Central Panuco S.A. De C.V., a subsidiary of Mexico's Perforadora Central S.V. De C.V. (Perforadora Central) to build a KFELS B Class jackup rig worth $240 million, including owner furnished equipment. Scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2015, the jackup rig is intended for operations in offshore Mexico. Built to Keppel's market-established KFELS B Class design, the rig will be able to operate in water depths of up to 400 feet, drill to depths of 30,000 feet with accommodation for 126 persons and a BOP system of 18-3/4 x 15,000 PSI. With this latest contract, a total of 13 KFELS B Class jackup rigs have been ordered for the Mexican market since 2010.

Keppel FELS Delivers Another Premium Rig

Keppel FELS has delivered a KFELS B Class jackup rig, to Constructora y Perforadora Latina (CP LATINA), a private Mexican company in the energy sector. The rig was named La Santa Mariaat a ceremony in Keppel FELS. Delivered on time and with a perfect safety record, it will be chartered to Pemex, Mexico's national oil company, for deployment in offshore Mexico. La Santa Maria  is the first of two high-specification jackup rigs that Keppel FELS is building for CP Latina. The second rig is on schedule to be delivered in 4Q 2013. Antech Receives Investment Backing

Directional coiled tubing drilling is an effective way to re-enter existing wellbores in order to increase recovery from mature fields, at reduced cost.

AnTech Ltd, an engineering company that provides directional coiled tubing drilling (DCTD) services, announced that it has secured a substantial investment from Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV) and London-based Calculus Capital, following an initial investment from eCORP, which operates a considerable amount of shale deposit acreage in Europe. The funding is being used to launch AnTech’s new DCTD service capability so that it can use its bespoke systems to deliver highly cost-effective directional drilling solutions to the oil and gas industry.

Keppel Expands Foothold in Mexican Offshore Market

Keppel FELS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion, a subsidiary of Mexico's national oil company, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), to build two KFELS B Class jackup rigs worth US$420 million. Scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2015, the high specification rigs will be the 19th and 20th KFELS B Class rigs on order at Keppel, with 36 already delivered in the past decade. When completed, the two rigs will join a number of KFELS B Class jackup rigs built by Keppel for Mexican customers. This includes the Primus jackup rig recently delivered to Oro Negro as well as the Tonala rig operated by Peforadora Central.

Keppel Wins $809m Contract from Sete Brasil

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its subsidiary Fernvale Pte. Ltd., has secured a contract worth approximately $809m from Urca Drilling B.V., a subsidiary of Sete Brasil Participações S.A. (Sete Brasil), for the design and construction of a semisubmersible (semi) drilling rig based on Keppel's proprietary DSSTM 38E design. The DSSTM 38E is an enhancement of Keppel's proven fifth generation deepwater solution, the DSSTM 38. With improved capability and operability, it is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the deepwater "Golden Triangle" region, comprising Brazil, Africa and the Gulf of Mexico. Scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2015, the rig is intended to support the exploration of Brazil's estimated 50 billion barrels of deep-sea oil and gas reserves1.

Keppel Wins Enscor $245m Jackup Deal

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured a contract to build an enhanced KFELS Super A Class harsh environment jackup rig from Ensco plc (NYSE: ESV) for $245 million. The rig is scheduled for delivery in 3Q 2014. This contract arose from the exercise of an option which was part of Ensco's order of two KFELS Super A Class rigs on 10 February 2011. Mr. Dan Rabun, Chairman and CEO of Ensco plc, said, "Ensco's new series of jackup rigs are enhanced versions of the KFELS Super A Class design that will provide increased levels of efficiency for customers. Titan Torque Turnover Up 118%

Titan Torque, the oilfield services specialist, has announced it has increased turnover by 118%, increased the size of its Aberdeen facility and launched a new service to the drilling sector. Rapidly-expanding Titan has secured additional operational space to meet  demand for its drilling solutions and equipment. Keppel To Build New Jackup Worth US$195 Million For Mexico

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from Mexico's Perforadora Central SA de CV (Perforadora Central) to build a repeat jackup rig valued at about US$195 million. Slated for delivery in 1Q 2013, this latest high specification unit will be based on the LeTourneau Super 116E design. Unlike the existing LeTourneau Super 116Es, this will be the first Super 116E newbuild to be further enhanced to provide for an additional 1,500 kips of elevated load. It will have leg lengths of 511 ft and the capability to drill wells up to 30,000 ft at a water depth of 375 ft. Mexico is the world's sixth largest producer of oil and has the seventh largest natural gas reserve in the western hemisphere.

Environmentally Sensitive Drilling Solutions

Statoil is the first operator in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico to adopt the Riserless Mud Recovery (RMR) system that reduces discharges to sea. This environmentally sensitive drilling solution has been used on the Discoverer Americas drill ship on the Statoil-operated Krakatoa prospect. "The RMR system allows us to circulate the mud, reducing the total mud consumption and discharges to sea to a quarter of the amount compared with conventional methods," explained Tore Grønås, Statoil's superintendent for the Discoverer Americas drill ship.

Aker Solutions Makes Management Changes

Aker Solutions announced organizational changes in its Subsea and Products & Technologies business areas. It also announced changes in the company's executive management team. The changes involve an integration of Aker Marine Contractors, Aker Well Service and Aker Geo into the Subsea business area. In combination with our ownership and cooperation with Aker Oilfield Services, the new structure will also leverage our well intervention services offering. Until now these business units have been part of the Products & Technologies business area. In addition the drilling riser business will be transferred from Subsea to the Products & Technologies business area to further strengthen our drilling solutions.
