New CEO at GulfNav Leads Expansion Plans

Dubai-based shipping company Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (GulfNav) has announced in a press conference at Rose Rayhaan by Rotana April 19 its expansion plans to increase its assets under management and service-based revenue. The shipping company also revealed the appointment of Khamis Juma Buamim as the new Board Member, Managing Director and Group CEO by the Board of Directors during the event. Steel Cut for Middle East's First LNG Harbor Tug

Drydocks World, Maritime World Win Excellence Awards

Drydocks World and Maritime World have won the Excellence Award given by the International Maritime Club at the Golden Bells Awards 2015 - Middle East. UAE Shipping Delegation to Meet with Greek Counterparts

A delegation of Middle East maritime heavyweights including H.E. Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman & group CEO Drydocks World and Maritime World and Rashid Mohammed Al Habsi, the chief executive of Tasneef, will attend the ‘Maritime Transportation of Energy and Mediterranean Ultra Deep Water Exploration’ event in Athens. Buamim Addresses Offshore Support Journal Conference

Drydocks World to Repair “High Island IV”

Drydocks World, the international service provider to the shipping, maritime, offshore, oil, gas, and energy sectors, has been chosen to carry out the drydocking and repairs of the jack-up “High Island IV” for Shelf Drilling, one of the major players in the shallow water drilling market, and owners of 40 rigs worldwide. Drydocks World's to build BorWin3

Drydocks World signed an agreement today with Petrofac to build the BorWin3 high voltage direct current (HVDC) converter platform in the North Sea, named BorWin gamma. When completed, this will provide an essential renewable offshore resource to meet increasing energy demands. Drydocks World has successfully secured the contract for the fabrication, commissioning and load out of the BorWin3 platform, which will transmit electricity from the connected offshore wind farms to the mainland of Germany. Scheduled to go online in 2019, the platform will be installed nearly 100km off the German coast in the North Sea, at a water depth of approximately 40m. The Dutch-German transmission system operator TenneT ordered the HVDC link BorWin3 from a consortium comprising Petrofac and Siemens.

SMM 2014 Witnesses Record Turnout

SMM was another full success. With more than 2,100 exhibitors from all around the world, including 150 first-timers, with 50,000 industry visitors and roughly 90,000 square metres of exhibition space, SMM has demonstrated once again what it means to be the leading international trade fair of the maritime industry. Drydocks World to Participate in SMM 2014

Drydocks World, the leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas, and energy sectors, will participate in the prestigious 26th edition of Shipbuilding, Machinery, and Marine Technology (SMM) Exhibition, from September 9-12, 2014. Drydocks World Inks Agreement with DNV GL

World’s First Modular Capture Vessel Sets Sail

International service provider Drydocks World announced that the world’s first Modular Capture Vessel (MCV), Eagle Texas, sailed away from its yard.
