Dubai Partners with WOC on Ocean Sustainable Dwevelopment
The Dubai Council on Marine and Maritime Industries (DCMMI) and the World Ocean Council (WOC) have agreed to collaborate on ocean sustainable development and corporate ocean responsibility. The WOC is increasingly working with and through âmaritime clustersâ to advance these goals. âThe World Ocean Council is a unique global business leadership organization committed to advancing ocean sustainable development, stewardship and science,â DCMMI Chairman, Khamis Juma Buamim, stated. âWe look forward to working with DCMMI to better engage leadership companies from Dubai and the UAE,â WOC CEO, Paul Holthus, added.
Drydocks World to Participate in SMM 2014
Drydocks World, the leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas, and energy sectors, will participate in the prestigious 26th edition of Shipbuilding, Machinery, and Marine Technology (SMM) Exhibition, from September 9-12, 2014. Taking place in the strategic shipping hub of Hamburg, Germany, Drydocks World will attend SMM 2014 with representatives from Maritime World, Dubai Chamber and Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries. Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries, the umbrella industry body representing the marine and relevant industry, had its first introductory memberâs meeting. The meeting sought to introduce the members, lay the broad framework for future operations, brainstorming on pressing industry issues and strengthen the foundation for meaningful networking among industry partners. Drydocks World spearheads the launch of DCMMI
Drydocks World, a service provider in the maritime industry, has announced the formation of the Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries (DCMMI), a specialized non-profit trade and industry council to promote the interests of the marine and maritime industry in Dubai and the UAE. DCMMI represents a wide cross-section of the UAEâs marine and maritime industry such as Offshore & Engineering, Ship Repair & Maintenance, Shipbuilding & Conversion, and Rig building, Chandlery and Yacht Services. The Council was launched under the auspices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
