UK's LRED Presented with Queen's Award for Enterprise

Technip Wins Shell Offshore Contract

Technip is awarded an EPIC contract  for Gannet F reinstatement project, situated in the North Sea. The engineering, procurement, installation and construction (EPIC) contract for the project is located in the North Sea, 180 kilometers east of Aberdeen, at a water depth of 95 meters. •    trenching and installation of an 11.9 kilometer umbilical. Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen, Scotland will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in the second semester of 2013. The Group’s spoolbase in Evanton, Scotland, will fabricate the pipe-in-pipe and DUCO Limited, Technip’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Newcastle, England, will manufacture the umbilical. Technip’s pipelay vessel, Apache II, will be used for the offshore campaign.

Important Offshore Contract for Technip

Technip awarded an important EPCI contract for the G1200 to develop the Starfish field in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. Technip wins a lump sum engineering, procurement, commissioning and installation (EPCI) contract with BG International Ltd (BG) for the development of the Starfish field. Located in the East Coast Marine Area, offshore Trinidad, the field lies at a water depth of approximately 130 meters and will be tied back to the existing Dolphin ‘A’ Platform operated by BG. Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas will perform the overall project management with detailed design being completed by Genesis, a wholly-owned Technip subsidiary. The umbilical will be manufactured by Technip’s Duco Inc.

China Subsea Contract for Technip

Technip in a consortium with Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd (COOEC) wins a substantial subsea contract in China. The contract, value  €200 million (Technip share: around €110 million)  was awarded by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Deepwater Development Limited is for the South China Sea deepwater gas development project in the Panyu field, located about 150 kilometers South of Hong Kong. The development consists in a new subsea production system with six wells and its associated control system tied up to a new central processing platform. The contract covers the supply and installation of a 10” and a 6” diameter clad-lined pipelines, of steel tube umbilicals*, and associated equipments.

Technip Gets North Sea Contract

The Greater Stella Area (GSA) development is located in the North Sea, 280 kilometers East-Southeast of Aberdeen, Scotland at a water depth of approximately 90 meters. Vessels from the Technip fleet will be used for the offshore campaign, including the Skandi Arctic and the Wellservicer. Ithaca Energy (UK) Ltd is developing the GSA, centred on the Stella and Harrier fields as a stand-alone development utilizing its own floating production vessel. ◦    Installation of the mooring system to the production platform and design and installation of five-slot mid water arch. Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2013.

Global Deepwater Market is Buoyant

The Global deepwater market is strengthening according to Quest Offshore Resources Inc.'s soon to be published Global Subsea Production Umbilical Report. The majority (65%) of identified forecast subsea wells across the globe are in deepwater (greater than 0-1,650 FSW (0-500 MSW)). With respect to ultra-deepwater subsea production, the present share of forecast subsea trees worldwide over 3,437 FSW (Feet Sea Water) or 1,200 MSW (Meters Sea Water) is 39%. Of the remaining subsea wells forecast over the next six years, 26% are planned for installation in 1,650-3,960 FSW (501-1,200 MSW) and 35% in 0-1,650 FSW (0-500 MSW). The market for subsea trees is strong with a significant number of contract awards for subsea production trees materializing over the last 12 months. As illustrated in Fig.

Positive Outlook for Global Subsea Development, Deepwater Strengthening

There are 2,511 identified pending, probable and possible subsea production wells forecast (base case) worldwide over the next six years. Some 18 percent of these subsea completions will be installed in North America, 30 percent in Africa/Mediterranean, eight percent in Asia-Pacific, 26 percent in the North Sea and 18 percent in Brazil. These subsea projects are in various development stages, including: 23 percent at the pending/construction stage, 11 percent bidding, 9 percent in detailed engineering, 16 percent at the front-end engineering design (FEED) stage, 16 percent of the wells probable and 26 percent possible indicating possible development in the future.
