Bunker Vessel Delivered to Hai Soon Diesel & Trading

Hai Soon Diesel & Trading (HSDT) has taken delivery of the third and final tanker in a series of bunker vessels constructed at Zhejiang Shenzhou Sunshine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. SFI Acquires Three VLCCs From Hunter Group

Bermuda-based ship-owning and ship chartering firm Ship Finance International Limited (SFL) has agreed to purchase three very large crude carriers (VLCCs) from Norwegian investment company Hunter Group. The 300,000 dwt oil tankers are currently being constructed by South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). Hunter Group placed the order for the VLCCs last year. SFI will pay almost $60 million for each tanker and a total of $180 million for all three. The vessels are scheduled to be delivered within the next two months.The tankers will be fitted with exhaust gas cleaning systems to reduce the emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx) and other pollutants, and to meet IMO regulations.

SHI Built LNG-Fuelled Ship with In-house Tech

South Korea shipbuilding major Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) announced that it has successfully built its first LNG-fuelled vessels with its own technology, proving itself to the eco-friendly shipping industry for its construction competencies and technological prowess.SHI announced on April 29, 2019 that the two LNG-fuelled 113,000 dwt oil tankers delivered to an Asian shipowner early this year just completed the first bunkering at the port of Rotterdam in Netherlands and now begin its operation as ecofriendly vessels. The shipbuilder stated that the two oil tankers are the first LNG-fuelled vessels SHI built at its yard. The order was awarded at the end of 2015…

New Times Shipbuilding Launches Two Aframax for Frontline

On April 2, No.13 and No.14 111,000 DWT Oil Tankers launched successively from NTS drydock, both of which are built for Frontline. New Times Shipbuilding's CEO Liu Haijin and the representatives from the owner and ABS attended the launching ceremony, the company said in its press release. It has updated about the other deliveries in this year. On January 26, 2018, the closing ceremony for No.26 157,500 DWT Crude Oil Tanker was held in Shanghai. "Our Executive General Manger  Zhang Yuyong and representatives from Owner Dong-A Tanker attended this ceremony. The delivery documents for this ship were successfully signed by both parties," said another press release.

Guangzhou Shipyard Bags Order for Seven Tankers from Cosco Shipping

Cosco  Shipping Energy Transportation (CSET) has placed an order for seven more ships at compatriot Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI), owned by CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering Company Limited. The order will include two 64,900 dwt crude oil tankers, two 109,900 dwt LR2 vessels and three 114,000 dwt crude tankers, totaling in an investment worth approximately USD 323 million (RMB 2.14 billion.). Expected delivery dates for the two 64,900 dwt panamax crude tankers are on or before 29 February 2020 and 31 May 2020, respectively. The two 109,900 dwt LR2/Aframax clean products/crude oil carriers of 109,900 dead have expected delivery dates of on or before 31 October 2020 and 31 January 2021, respectively.

China Shipping Development Orders Four VLCCs

Hong Kong unit of China Shipping Development, the oil and dry bulk shipping arm of state conglomerate China Shipping Group, has booked four very large crude carriers (VLCCs) at a compatriot yard. The worth a total of $375.92m was placed with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC). The four new 308,000 dwt oil tankers, each costing around $94m, are scheduled to be delivered between May 2017 to September 2018. The construction of the VLCCs will be funded by bank funding and internal financial resources. The delivery of the new vessels will enable the company to optimize its overall route arrangements and improve its operating efficiency and profitability, said the company.

Hamworthy Lands 11-vessel China Order

Hamworthy has won a contract to supply pump room systems for 11 vessels to be delivered to the China Shipping Group (CSG). The first three systems are destined for installation on three CSG 112,000 dwt aframax newbuildings, to be constructed at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC). The remaining eight systems are to be supplied to product carriers being built at Guangzhou Shipyard International, (GSI). All 11 systems include three cargo pumps and two ballast pumps, which have been cast at Hamworthy’s manufacturing plant in Singapore in superior Ni-Al-Bronze material.

Cranes for Hudong Shipyard

This week Dreggen Crane A.S received order for 24 different cranes from the Chinese yard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. The cranes will be used on four 72.000 DWT oil tankers and seven 74.500 DWT Bulk Carriers on order at the yard. On two of the oil tankers Dreggen will deliver the complete crane outfit consisting of one Hose handling crane with capacity of 15 ton at 24 m, one electric Monorail provision crane with capacity of 3 ton and one electric Engine room crane with capacity of 4 ton. On the other vessels Dreggen will deliver one 4 ton electric Monorail crane and one 4 ton electric Engine room crane to each vessel. Dreggen has a long lasting co-operation with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and since 1994 Dreggen has delivered over 100 cranes to the yard.

Bergesen Takes Two More From Hitachi Zosen

Bergesen exercised an option to buy two more 296,000 dwt oil tankers from Japan's Hitachi Zosen Corp for a combined price of $140 million. "The vessels will be delivered in February and June 2002, and will be vessels number seven and eight delivered by Hitachi to Bergesen," Bergesen said in a statement. "The contract for the first six vessels was entered into earlier this year, and the first two vessels have already been delivered," it said. "The Hitachi series represents a strong renewal of Bergesen's tanker fleet. The company has in 1999 and so far this year sold altogether seven old tankers, of which five for scrapping. It has been decided to convert another two old tankers to floating production vessels," it said.

For the year 2000, Wärtsilä Corporation reports that 24 Sulzer RTA84T low-speed diesel engines with an aggregate power output of 713.4 MW (970,800 bhp) have been ordered for installation in very large tankers contracted at shipyards in China, Japan and South Korea. The engines will all be built by licensees of Wärtsilä in Japan and Korea. Altogether there are now 78 Sulzer RTA84T engines (including the -B and -D versions) delivered or on order, with a combined output of 2171.9 MW (2.95 million bhp). Ten 305,000 dwt oil tankers recently contracted in China and South Korea by National Iranian Tanker Co (NITC) will each be propelled by a seven-cylinder Sulzer RTA84T-B low-speed diesel engine.

Germanischer Lloyd Classifies New Tankers

Classed by Germanischer Lloyd, the 31,600 dwt Seychelles Pride is a new addition to GL's stable of technologically sophisticated double-hull product tankers. Designed for the transport of chemicals (IMO Type 3), oil, and oil products, it represents a further development of the "Lindenau Safety Tanker Class 2004" which has received a number of international awards for innovative design and safety. Delivered in June 2002, it is the fifth vessel in this successful series to be classed by GL. Built for Seychelles Shipping Lines Ltd. by the Lindenau shipyard at Kiel, the new tanker will be operated by Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd. of Limassol.

Croatian Shipyard Delivers Oil Tanker To Doria Shipping

3.Maj Brodogradilište (MAJ), of Rijeka Croatia, delivered the first oil tanker of a series of four to Doria Shipping. In March, 1997 3.MAJ was contracted to build four 71,345-dwt oil tankers for $150 million. With the financing help of Merrill Lynch International of London, and the full support of the Croatian government, the company successfully in finalizing this order. Built for the transportation of crude oil and oil products, M/T Margara, has five pairs of cargo and one pair of slop tanks. Double sides were applied in fuel tanks, for the vessel's compliance with all international environmental requirements.
