Cape Horn Delivered into Service

Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG), a naval architecture and marine engineering firm with offices in Seattle and Ketchikan, announced the delivery into service of the Cape Horn, a Specialty Oilfield Vessel. EBDG partnered with Gulf of Mexico Operator SeaMar, LLC and Gulf Island Marine Fabricators on the class design and production engineering for the ship. "We would like to congratulate our valued client, Darrel Plaisance of SeaMar, LLC on the delivery of their EB-220CC and the shipyard on a fine build," stated Gulf Coast General Manager, Keith Keller.

EBDG Persues New Orleans Operations

In response to increased demand for maritime services in the region, Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG),a naval architecture and marine engineering firm, is currently expanding its Gulf Coast operations to accommodate a staff of 20 by 2014. “We're seeking naval architects, marine engineers and designers of all disciplines," stated EBDG Gulf Coast General Manager, Keith Keller. Driving the expansion is a growing client list and brisk demand for the firm's long-standing expertise with vessel design, production support and lofting systems modeling. Increasing its staffing capacity enables EBDG to continue providing its clients with the best support possible at every stage of vessel design, construction support and regulatory liaison processes.

EBDG New Orleans Innovates OSV Design with New EB-210 CC

Elliott Bay Design Group's (EBDG) New Orleans office partnered with Gulf Island Marine Fabricators, LLC. on the class design and production engineering for the EB-210CC OSV (Offshore Support Vessel). The scope of this new design project included detail design, structural, mechanical, piping and outfitting design as well as 3-D assembly drawings of the vessel structure utilizing ShipConstructor software. In addition, EBDG is the primary point of contact for all regulatory body requests for information.

New Additions to EBDG's Gulf Coast Office

Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) added two employees to its Gulf Coast Office: Ron Dunning and Joseph Hudson. Ron Dunning joins EBDG from Virginia Beach, Va. with more than 35 years' experience in structural design. His broad-ranging design experience encompasses everything from military vessels to offshore vessels operating in the Gulf of Mexico. He has worked in design firms and shipyards around the country including Northrop Grumman, AMSEC, NASCO and Gibbs & Cox, to name a few. Joseph Hudson comes to EBDG from Springfield, La.

EBDG: Keller to Manage New Gulf Office

Elliott Bay Design Group LLC (EBDG) welcomes Keith Keller as its Gulf Office Manager for the firm’s New Orleans office, re-opening its doors in early 2012. Getting his start at Avondale Shipyard, Keller has over 30 years experience in shipbuilding and engineering, working with various yards and design firms around the country including Marinette Marine, NASSCO, D3 Marine and most recently STX US Marine. He will be responsible for the development of new business and project management, in addition to hiring a staff of naval architects and marine engineers for the office.

EBDG's New Orleans Office Moves

Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) announced that its New Orleans staff has moved into its permanent home, 4,750 sq ft of prime office space on the 15th floor of the One Canal Place building. The staff operated out of temporary space in the same building for the past six months, while the build-outs were completed in the new office. The move took place over the October 10 and 11 weekend with the office up and fully functioning on Monday morning. Situated on the Mississippi River, the space is within walking distance to many of EBDG's Gulf area clients. In late 2006, EBDG opened its Gulf area office to better serve its clients. New Orleans…
