You have either been hacked... or just didn’t know you have been hacked. I predict that the first catastrophic maritime cyber incident will not be the result of a direct attack on a safety critical specific piece of equipment. It will be the result of an infection on a random PC, perhaps an unassuming email to a crew member, whose PC is either connected to the vessels internal super highway or he transmits the infection internally whilst it lies dormant. MISC Signs up Entire LNG Fleet for ECDIS Training

MISC Berhad has chosen eMaritime Group's ACAT online courses as its ECDIS type specific continuous personal development training solution. ECDIS Ltd have extended its Type Specific ECDIS ACAT (Annual Competency Assurance Training) portfolio to include the new JRC 7201/9201 and Furuno FMD ECDIS. Available online as well as the new offline downloadable version, ECDIS ACAT is used daily by shipping companies globally. ECDIS Utilizes COLREGs for Training

ECDIS Ltd. has recently utilized new simulation training technology for COLREGs teaching aids, creating a brighter way to train and assess students from their 150 major shipping company clients in the classroom. Using the new technology via projectors, the assessors, instructors and students have the dynamic ability to continuously change the COLREGs situation, in a variety of meteorological conditions, from any aspect of any vessel i.e. port or starboard, birds eye, helm positions and free orbital. Long gone are the days of using ROR flip cards and magnetic smartie boards.

ECDIS Launch Sperry Marine Course

ECDIS Ltd. have taken delivery of three new VisionMaster FT ECDIS, which have been installed in their e-Navigation Center. The ECDIS systems are made by Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine and will mean ECDIS Ltd are now able to offer Nautical Institute accredited Type Specific ECDIS Training on nine different systems. ECDIS Ltd Delivers 10th Management Course

ECDIS Ltd. Unveils Vstep Nautis Bridge Simulator

ECDIS Ltd unveil Vstep Nautis Full Mission Bridge Simulator primarily for Bridge Team training but fitted with 4 ECDIS systems. UK based ECDIS training and consultancy company ECDIS Ltd unveiled the simulator at the opening of the facility by MP George Hollingbery in Southampton. The Bridge Simulator is to accompany the six smaller NAUTIS simulators already used for visual channels during the IMO 1.27 Model ECDIS Course. VSTEP are world renowned for their simulator software and have the capability of integrating their system with most ECDIS manufactures using standard NMEA strings as found onboard any vessel. ECDIS Ltd included in MCA Training Provider List. The sad consequences of the grounding of ships have been all too commonly seen on television screens world-wide. Ships such as  Torrey Canyon, Exxon Valdez and Costa Concordia have become household names in recent years, and the consequences for the environment, the loss of lives, ships and cargoes, together with the costs to insurance companies, have been all too clear for media audiences all around the planet. The UK government, through the MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) has responded to a call from the IMO (International Maritime Organization) for all ships of 500 tons or more to be fitted with ECDIS within a sliding timescale and for the deck officers of those ships to be carefully trained in the use of ECDIS.

ECDIS Will Partner With Japan Radio

UK-based ECDIS training and consultancy company ECDIS Ltd. has announced a new partnership agreement with manufacturer Japan Radio Company (JRC). As a training partner, ECDIS Ltd will deliver MCA- and DNV-approved Generic and Nautical Institute accredited Type Specific (Equipment Specific) training on JRC ECDIS software. ECDIS Partners with Simrad to Offer Training

UK-based ECDIS training and consultancy company ECDIS Ltd has signed a new agreement with Simrad to provide flag-state approved training on Simrad's CS68 ECDIS software. The agreement has seen the installation of a Simrad terminal in ECDIS Ltd's e-Navigation Center, as well as the ability to provide mobile generic and type-specific training on Simrad ECDIS software. Designed to withstand the roughest conditions at sea, Simrad's CS68 features a shock-mounted central processing unit and a choice of input devices.

Totem Plus Partners with ECDIS to Revamp Training

Totem Plus has announced a partnership with ECDIS LTD. This will enable training to be conducted on its TOTEM ECDIS in ECDIS LTD’s new e-Navigation Center in Southampton, UK. The training will be based on ECDIS LTD’s flagship MCA accredited IMO 1.27 Model ECDIS course. ECDIS Ltd provides navigation training, purchasing, charting and consultation in Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) and the military equivalent (WECDIS, ECDIS-N). They specialize in providing Flag State approved IMO model ECDIS courses to be taught on any IMO accredited ECDIS. ECDIS Ltd has opened their new eNavigation Centre at Solent Business Park, where they will deliver their flagship MCA accredited IMO 1.27 Model ECDIS course. “We are delighted to offer our customers the ECDIS training solution at such a convenient location.
