CMA CGM Launches eSolutions

MSC Full VGM Compliance

One week after the implementation of the new SOLAS regulation ‘Verified Gross Mass’ (VGM), MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company confirms an outstanding early experience of compliance rates by shippers. MSC France, which covers seven ports in the French Metropolitan area, saw a 100% verified record on all its initial sailings under the new jurisdiction. Of 627 containers loaded on 1st July, every single one was found to be fully VGM ready and compliant. In the days immediately after VGM coming into effect – from 2nd until 6th July – a total of 2,891 containers were loaded by MSC France, and every one of these was VGM compliant. MSC Launches 'myMSC'

MSC has recently launched a new customer portal called ‘myMSC’ which allows you to submit your VGM instructions online and much more. The launch of this portal has been advanced in anticipation of the new SOLAS regulation which comes into effect on the 1st July 2016. MSC will roll out additional functionality over the course of 2016. The portal will offer complete online management of your cargo including; rate requests, bookings, shipping instructions, manifest correctors, notice of arrivals, financial records, schedules, cut-off information, rates of exchange and VGM submission. Customers can submit and amend documents such as shipping instructions and bookings. myMSC complements MSC’s other eCommerce channels such as EDI connections via INTTRA, GT NEXUS and Cargo Smart.

UASC Chooses INTTRA's eVGM Service

With implementation of a new global container weight requirement less than a month away, global carrier United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has extended its partnership with ocean shipping electronic marketplace INTTRA, to use the INTTRA eVGM Service as a channel to facilitate compliance with the new rule. As of July 1, under the International Maritime Organization's Safety of Life at Sea Verified Gross Mass amendment (SOLAS VGM) as adopted, every container must have a certified weight in order to gain clearance to be loaded onto a ship.

BW Fleet Management Selects MarineLink

Oslo based BW Fleet Management have chosen to sign a 3 year “BuyerLink” Service contract with EVRY, to use the MarineLink Service and run in parallel with their other eCommence providers who integrates directly with their Oracle EBS Purchasing application. BW Fleet Management has used the MarineLink service for many years for transactions with Wilhelmsen Ships Service, Alfa Laval and engine manufacturer Wärtsilä. P&O Ferries and MTN Communications (MTN) announce the delivery of high-performance Internet connectivity and access to online content through the first Wi-Fi hot spot on the English Channel. This service is now live on the English Channel on ferries serving the P&O Ferries Dover-Calais route. Hamburg Süd Launches Free App

Hamburg Süd has just released a free app for smartphones and tablets that is available for its customers to download. The Hamburg Süd app allows customers to access information about Track & Trace, timetables, offices and news wherever they may be. The new app was developed jointly by Hamburg Süd and the IT consultancy Capgemini. Omega Engineering Opens Singapore Office

Maersk Container Line Leads in Reliability Says Report
