C-MAP Appointed Admiralty Distributor
C-MAP has been appointed by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) as an official ADMIRALTY Digital Distributor and SENC Service Provider. Following this appointment, C-MAP, will now supply ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service (AVCS), C-MAP ADMIRALTY ENC Service (CAES), ADMIRALTY Digital Publications (ADP) and Electronic Nautical Publications (e-NPs) through its global network of offices and distributors. AVCS - the world’s leading ENC Service - will be provided by C-MAP in both traditional S-63 format and in the time and cost efficient DNV certified SENC data compression format. Named C-MAP ADMIRALTY ENC Service (CAES), the new service is complementary to other C-MAP services including Weather, Piracy and Professional+ (Pro+) chart data.
C-MAP Unveils Insight Chart Options
Global cartography leader C-MAP is set to introduce a new series of map products for boaters. The new U.S. mapping products — C-MAP Insight Pro and C-MAP Lake Insight HD — combine the trusted chart detail, unique content and popular graphical presentation of C-MAP cartography with exclusive chart data from GoFree Lake Insight charts. Boaters and anglers using these charts will also benefit from millions of acres of customized data from the Insight Genesis Social Map, providing the most up-to-date views of underwater contours and lake bed features gathered and shared by actual boaters on the water. C-MAP Insight Pro gives both coastal and freshwater anglers powerful features designed to enhance their time on the water.
DMS Acquires Jeppesen's Marine Division from Boeing
Digital Marine Solutions (DMS) has completed acquisition of the assets of the Marine Division of Jeppesen, a Boeing company. Digital Marine Solutions is owned by the Altor 2003 Fund. Under the terms of the agreement the Jeppesen Marine and C-MAP portfolio will continue to operate as a separate entity under the C-MAP brand name. Digital Marine Acquires Jeppesen's Marine Division
Digital Marine Solutions announced today it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire the marine division of Jeppesen, subject to regulatory approval. Under the terms of the agreement, the former Jeppesen Marine will operate as a separate entity with its own dedicated resources and will trade under the C-MAP brand name. Jeppesen will remain as part of The Boeing Company. Digital Marine Solutions is owned by the Altor 2003 Fund, which is part of the Nordic based Altor family of private equity funds. This strategic acquisition leverages Altor’s experience in the Marine industry, where it also is the majority owner of the Navico house of marine brands.
