CDI Electronics Acquires Balmar Marine

CDI Electronics has announced the acquisition of Ballard Commercial Industries located in Arlington, Washington. The transaction was completed on June 6. Financial terms were not disclosed. CDI Electronics was founded in 1983 and is a company in aftermarket outboard ignition systems and diagnostic software. Balmar was founded in 1982 and is known worldwide for its high-output alternators and premium DC charging systems for gasoline and diesel inboards. Intertek Addresses Global Mercury Pollution

Intertek will tackle the issue of mercury pollution across industries during the “International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant” (ICMGP) in Edinburgh, Scotland, July 28 to August 2, 2013. Intertek will showcase expertise in detecting, monitoring and controlling mercury, supporting industries such as food, consumer products and oil and gas. Recent Harvard studies have shown that mercury is a long term problem, as past accumulations built over thousands of years could persist for centuries.

Mitsubishi to License Shipbuilding Tech to India

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has agreed with L&T Shipbuilding Limited (LTSB), the shipbuilding arm of India's Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), under which MHI will provide a broad range of technological support to LTSB for construction of commercial vessels.
