MTU Launch Minnesota Youth Apprenticeship Program

MTU Onsite Energy Corp., a Rolls-Royce Power Systems company providing diesel and gas-based power system solutions, has announced the launch of a new youth apprentice program. The vocational training program is designed for high school juniors and seniors and will combine hands-on training in a manufacturing setting with classroom instruction. The program will begin this fall, in partnership with Mankato Area Public Schools, South Central College, Kato Cable, a full service cable assembly company, and EI Microcircuits, an electronics design and manufacturing company. HMI Monitoring and Control - Building Blocks of a SCADA System

User interface is the most visible system component when it comes to equipment operation. From the steering wheel and instrument cluster on your vehicle’s dashboard to the most complex industrial control system, the purpose is the same; it must allow human interface into a system. The interface must provide the user a means to control the equipment, provide feedback from the equipment to show operational conditions and alert us when something is wrong. And it should do these things efficiently, be easy to use, and visually and ergonomically pleasing.

MV Alucia Reconstructed for New Use

The MV Alucia has undergone reconstruction and retrofit for future use as a research and upscale adventure vessel. Alucia was built at the Auroux Shipyard in southern France as a heavy lift ship and launch/recovery platform for diving and submersible operations. She functioned as principle support ship and launch recovery platform for the Nautalie from 1984-2004, one of the world’s only submersibles capable of diving 6,000 meters (19,690 feet). Acquired in June 2004 by DeepOcean Quest Expeditions, the MV Alucia (183 ft) has undergone a major retrofit and completed the requirements for a 5-year Bureau Veritas Certification survey. ACR Forms Bridge Information Group

Expanding its position in the commercial marine sector, U.S.-based ACR Electronics, Inc. announced a new suite of ACR-branded bridge information technologies that, with agency approvals, will soon be made available to commercial shipping and yachting customers.
