Smyril Line Orders Methanol-ready RoRo Ships at CIMC Raffles

Smyril Line announced it has signed a contract with the CIMC Raffles shipyard in China for the construction of two new vehicle carrier vessels.The ro-ro ships will each be 190 meters in length with 3,300 lane meters for trailers. They have been designed in close cooperation with naval architects Knud E. Hansen for year-round seaworthiness in the North Atlantic. Van Oord Contracted to Build FSRU Jetty in Germany

Van Oord has been contracted by FSRU Wilhelmshaven, a joint venture between ENGIE and Tree Energy Solution (TES) to construct a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) jetty at Wilhelmshaven in Germany.Responsibility for the operation of the second FSRU-Project in Wilhelmshaven lies with the state-owned Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET), which is implementing – together with its partners TES and Engie – one of the priority projects backed by Germany’s LNG Acceleration law, passed in May 2022.

Amogy to Open $40 Million Houston Manufacturing Facility

Amogy, developer of emission-free ammonia power solutions, on Tuesday announced it will open a new manufacturing facility in the energy and maritime hub city Houston.The Brooklyn-headquartered company said it will invest more than $40 million to renovate a 53,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that was formerly used to produce oil and gas equipment. Houlder, Blue Sea Power Developing Floating LNG-to-power Barges for Greek Islands

Houlder, the design and engineering consultancy, is collaborating with Blue Sea Power, an integrated energy solution provider as a gas-to-power company based in Athens, to develop three innovative floating LNG-to-power barges (FSRPs).According to the partners, the FSRP barges, which are set to be operational by 2025, will efficiently provide greener, lower emission baseload and peak power to the non-interconnected islands of Kos, Chios, and Lesvos. Echandia booked a second order from Green City Ferries AB as it expands its waterborne public transport in Stockholm with another zero-emission, high-speed, carbon fiber catamaran Beluga24.
