How to Choose Propulsion Systems for Patrol Craft

The propulsion system is a critical part of all patrol craft. There are different types of propulsion systems available for use on these craft, and selecting the “best” one for the application at hand is not to be taken lightly. You will note that I used “best” in quotes, which I’ve done to hint at the subjective nature of the decision. Propellers, waterjets, sterndrives, outboards – they are all commercial off the shelf technologies which are mature and used in different patrol craft applications.

The Lindley group of companies began its activities in 1930 with the establishment of Ahlers, Lindley, Lda. as a distributor of harbour and industrial equipment in Lisbon, Portugal. Today the group activities evolved to manufacture, distribution and service of port infrastructure. Ahlers Lindley and Almarin share engineering and production capabilities pooling design and manufacture of fixed and floating structures for the marine environment.

VEEM Appoints SAIM Gyro Range Sales Agent

Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) earlier this year, VEEM Ltd. has now agreed territories and principle responsibilities with the Italian marine equipment distributor SAIM Group. SAIM Group will be responsible for increasing awareness of the Australian engineering firm’s latest developments in gyro stabilization technology, whilst driving sales of the latest VEEM Gyro products across Central Europe. Both VEEM and SAIM Group have established enviable reputations within their respective fields for the development and distribution of high quality marine equipment.

Atlas Copco Taps James River Equipment

Atlas Copco welcomes its newest drilling equipment distributor, James River Equipment. The company, well-known as a heavy equipment supplier, will represent Atlas Copco in the Carolinas for blasthole rigs, other surface drilling rigs and equipment, and Secoroc rock drilling tools. In North Carolina, James River Equipment will also distribute Atlas Copco’s Dynapac compaction and paving equipment. Equipment covered by this new relationship includes surface crawlers such as Atlas Copco’s SmartROC, FlexiROC, and PowerROC surface rigs, the ROC L8 and the SmartRig F9C. James River Equipment will also sell and service Atlas Copco Secoroc rock drilling tools.
