Singapore-based Cyan Renewables Acquires First Offshore Wind Vessel

Singapore-based offshore wind vessel firm Cyan Renewables said Friday it had acquired its first vessel from DEME Offshore NL - the Service Operation Vessel (SOV) Groenewind, for an undisclosed fee.The Groenewind is a SWATH vessel used to service offshore wind farms. Monjasa Inks Deal to Distribute Green Ammonia for Shipping

On 6 February 2023, Monjasa and HØST PtX Esbjerg have signed a Commercial Collaboration Agreement (CCA) on logistics services and offtake of green ammonia for the maritime sector. According to the CCA, Monjasa will provide logistics services that will enable distribution of green ammonia from HØST PtX Esbjerg, which is a Danish power-to-ammonia project managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).As a maritime logistics partner, Monjasa has the possibility to provide the offtake partners of HØST PtX Esbjerg with green ammonia.

Liebherr Delivers Mobile Harbor Crane to Port Esbjerg

Last week, Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH delivered a new LHM 800 High Rise mobile harbor crane to its customer Port Esbjerg.The delivery took place shortly after an incident in the Kiel Canal, in which an LHM 600 ordered by Port Esbjerg was damaged while passing under the Holtenau High Bridge.Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH said it sent service engineers and technical specialists to assess the situation on site and to assist with the recovery immediately after the incident. CBED's Wind Innovation SOV Extends Stay at German Wind Farm Project

Offshore accommodation company CBED has won a contract extension for its Wind Innovation service operations vessel Wind Innovation.Back in May, the company secured a contract for the vessel at the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.Now, the extension has been secured with the wind farm owner, a joint venture between Vattenfall Europe Windkraft GmbH and Stadtwerke München GmbH Vattenfall, securing full activity for the SOV, Wind Innovation, from Q1 to Q4 2023.

Maersk to Acquire Offshore Training Company ResQ

A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) announces an intended acquisition for its subsidiary Maersk Training of the Norwegian company, ResQ, a supplier of safety training and emergency preparedness in Norway.ResQ has five survival centers in Norway to cater for training in the North Sea and offers more than 70 course titles, while the crisis management part consists of a full emergency response setup. CIP Proposes to Build Hydrogen Island in Danish Dogger Bank Area

MHO's New CTVs Have Zero-emissions Capability

Vattenfall Picks Island Offshore Vessel for Offshore Wind W2W in Germany

Norwegian offshore vessel operator Island Offshore, mostly known for its offshore vessel services in the Norwegian oil and gas industry, has recently won a walk-to-work contract with Vattenfall in the offshore wind sector in Germany.Island Offshore said the contract was an important one and will see its vessel Island Diligence deployed at Vattenfall-operated DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in the German part of the North Sea.Island Diligence will provide accommodation and transfer of technicians via the vessel’s gangway solution, to the wind turbines.

Total Extends Havila PSV Charters in Denmark

Norwegian offshore vessel operator Havila Shipping has won contract extensions for two of its platform supply vessels with Total in Denmark.Havila said Monday that Total DK, a Danish subsidiary of the French oil major Total, had declared extension options for the contracts for the 2010-built Havila Fanø and 2009-built Havila Herøy offshore vessels.Total DK has declared options for three months from June 1, 2021, for the two platform supply vessels and has options for further extensions for 4x1 months for each vessel.  According to AIS data, the 80,4-meter-long Havila Herøy is currently in the Danish North Sea, serving Danish oilfields. The Havila Fano is in the Port of Esbjerg.

Maersk Backs Plan for Green Ammonia Plant in Denmark

Europe's Largest: CIP to Launch Offshore Wind-powered Ammonia Plant in Denmark

Danish energy infrastructure investments firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is looking to build what it says is Europe’s largest production facility of CO2-free green ammonia, with the final product aimed at the shipping and agriculture sector as a means to reduce emissions.The project will be located in the town of Esbjerg on the west coast of Denmark, where the facility dubbed "Power-to-X-facility" will convert power from offshore wind turbines to green ammonia. This will be used by the agriculture sector as CO2-free green fertilizer and by the shipping industry as CO2-free green fuel.

Incat Crowther has won the contract for a pair of hybrid catamaran crew transfer vessels, designed together with Danish offshore crew transfer company MHO-Co. Once delivered, the vessels will service an Ørsted wind farm in the North Sea.The Incat Crowther 35s will use modern electric motors to save on weight, space, and emissions for the benefit of the environment as well as fuel economy in the offshore wind industry, Incat Crowther said.The vessels will use a combination of direct drive and electric propulsion for maximum flexibility and significant redundancy, the company said.

Turbine Foundations Shipped for Virginia Offshore Wind Farm

The first foundations for Dominion Energy's Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind pilot project have been shipped from Germany to Canada for eventual installation 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach, Va.On March 31, the foundation components for two 6MW Siemens Gamesa windmills were loaded onto the Netherlands-flagged BigRoll Beaufort at the EEW facility in Rostock, Germany. In order to be able to transport all wind equipment in the most safe way, the in-house engineers of Roll Group have designed dedicated grillage for Jan De Nul, the contractor who will install the turbines.

Danish shipyard Hvide Sande Shipyard, Steel & Service has selected Canadian-based Corvus Energy to supply the energy storage system (ESS) for a new fully electric ferry for Molslinjen, the largest domestic ferry company in Denmark.The new ferry, designed by JJohannesson Maritime Engineering and OSK-ShipTech, will be the second all-electric ferry in Denmark. Its 12-minute trip between Fanø and Esbjerg is very popular; last year the ferries in operation carried 1.8 million passengers in total.
