A New Independent Company to Focus on Satellite Communications for Energy Exploration and Production, Maritime and Leisure Markets. Environmental & Safety Systems International, Incorporated (ESSI), an energy industry service leader in Aids to Navigation (AtoN), SCADA and Safety Systems announces the creation of BlueTide Communications Corporation (BlueTide) via the spin-­‐off of the ESSI Communications Division. BlueTide will focus on providing data, voice, video and monitoring services to the energy exploration and production industry, and the commercial maritime and leisure yacht markets, offering service coverage in 11 regions around the world including the U.S.

ESSI Corporation and Hughes team up to address the unique requirement of this hardworking maritime sector. When ESSI Corporation and Hughes teamed in 2009 to deliver broadband VSAT services to the workboat industry, they quickly discovered that not only was this a unique industry, but also that when it came satellite communications, several important requirements had to be satisfied to keep these customers happy. As a service provider, a customized service tailored to those needs evolved. According to ESSI Corporation’s Emil Regard, offshore workboats and OSV’s first and foremost demand a certainty that the bandwidth ordered will be available, anytime, especially in the worst of conditions.

When Beemar, LLC rolled out a fleet of Dynamic Positioning 2 (DP-2) Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs), they needed a global broadband maritime communications solution that could match the high-tech demands of these new vessels and of their customers. BEEMAR chose Hughes Network Systems, LLC and Environmental Safety Systems International, Inc (ESSI) to fulfill this mission. Hughes is equipping BEEMAR's entire fleet of platform supply vessels with its fully managed maritime solution in partnership with ESSI Corporation, a systems integrator specializing in maritime industries. The Hughes solution includes high-speed Internet access, voice, email, video, and on-board Wi-Fi.

Triton Diving Services, LLC is keeping its crews safer and delivering more proficient diving services to offshore customers thanks to the Hughes Maritime Broadband solution from Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES). Louisiana-based Triton provides a host of diving services to oil companies, derrick barges, government, and commercial vessels, and other businesses operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The company is outfitting its fleet of vessels with high-speed Internet, data, VoIP, and video capabilities to provide critical ship-to-shore and diver-to-ship communications. Triton has been active in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill cleanup.
