Kongsberg Completes 10,000th AutoChief Propulsion Control System FAT
The 10,000th Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for Kongsberg Maritime’s AutoChief propulsion control system took place at Kongsberg Maritime Korea in Busan on Friday, April 27. The AutoChief 600 system tested will be installed on a new LEG carrier featuring a 2-stroke MAN B&W engine being built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (Hull 8258), for owner Solvang ASA. Fourth Damen Fast Ferry for S. Korea
Damen Shipyards Group has sold a Fast Ferry 4212 to South Korean ferry operator DAEA Express Shipping. The vessel, named Sea Flower, is the fourth ferry of this design that Damen has sold in the last five years to companies operating on the east coast of the Korean peninsula. With the contract for construction between Damen and DAEA signed in January 2016, the Sea Flower was handed over on 22 April during a ceremony in the vessel’s home port of Hupo. Liebherr Tops 40 Deliveries in North America
In early 2012, a state-of-the-art Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane, type LHM 550, marked the 40th delivery to the North American market. Of these machines 32 were delivered to the United States and 8 to Canada. Since 2006 a stable upward trend has been evident, especially in the United States. Since 2006 more than 20 Liebherr Mobile Harbour Cranes are guarantying highly efficient cargo handling throughout North America. The 40th crane delivered was purchased by the Maine Port Authority for their port in Searsport, ME USA.
