Women Needed for Shore Programs

Career opportunities for active-duty female Sailors are abundant with the Women Ashore program, Navy detailers said Nov. 12. McMoRan Receives USCG Update on Offshore LNG Project

McMoRan Exploration Co. has received correspondence from the U.S. Coast Guard regarding the remaining steps to be completed to obtain a Deepwater Port License for its Main Pass Energy Hub (MPEHTM) project. This information confirms McMoRan's expectation that the work completed to date will enable an expeditious processing of our license application. McMoRan submitted an amendment to its license application with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Maritime Administration (MARAD) on May 31 to obtain approval of its Main Pass Energy Hub project using Closed Loop technology. Customs Set to Begin Third Phase of C-TPAT

U.S. Customs Service Commissioner Robert C. Bonner today announced that Customs will begin taking applications as of August 26, 2002, from brokers, freight forwarders, and non-vessel operating common carriers for membership in the Customs-Trade Partnership program. The program, dubbed C-TPAT, is an initiative between business and government to protect global commerce from terrorism. Unveiled this past April, the program initially sought membership from the importing and global transportation communities. "The partnership will work best only if it is comprehensive," said Bonner. The program calls upon importing businesses and service providers to establish policies to enhance their own security practices and those of business partners involved in the supply chain.
