Topaz announces departure of CFO

Topaz Energy and Marine, a leading offshore support vessel company today announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Pernille Fabricius, is leaving the company. Ms. Fabricius leaves with the Chief Executive and Board of Directors’ best wishes and appreciation of her time with the Group.   The search process to appoint the company’s new CFO has commenced.

Topaz Energy and Marine, a global offshore support vessel owner with key operations in the Middle East and Caspiantoday announced the appointment of PernilleFabricius as Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Fabricius’career spans 25 years and she joins Topaz from her position as CFO of DAMCO, a global logistics division of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. DAMCO has revenues of approximately EUR 3,5bn and circa 20,000 employees in over 100 countries. Mrs. Fabricius has held significant international executive positions in her previous career…

Damen Delivers Fast Crew Supplier to Sea Consult

Danish company Sea Consult ApS has taken delivery of its first Damen Twin Axe as the company prepares to enter the offshore wind market. Based in Marstal, Sea Consult is a new customer to Damen and this will be the first Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 2610 to be operated by a Danish company. The vessel already has work at Belgian and German offshore wind farms for the next year and the company’s new vessel is expected to be deployed in the next two weeks. According to Damen, the short delivery time was a major reason the Danish company decided to choose the Damen high-speed catamaran.

Vinashin Sees $493M Turnover in 2005

The Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) generated a turnover of $493 million last year, marking a 41 percent jump over 2004 revenue. Last year the corporation signed a number of major construction contracts for large cargo ships. Many of the deals were made with countries with advanced shipbuilding capacity, including Denmark, the UK and Poland. Last August, Vinashin closed a $68 million deal to supply four container ships to Denmark’s Rederiet Fabricius A/S. Fabricius Marine placed a $4.3 million order for a 2,500 DWT container ship, scheduled for delivery by late 2006, while the company took on a $212 million contract to build eight cargo ships for UK-based Graig Investment Company.

Vinashin to Build Vessel for Denmark

Reports indicate that the contract on building a 2,500-ton vessel, worth $4.5M, will be carried out over 15 months by the Saigon Shipbuilding Industry Company, a member of Vinashin. Representatives also signed a $90,000 contract for engine testing services. Danish Fabricius and ISC Consulting Engineers signed the bulk of the agreements. The Saigon Shipbuilding will begin building the 2,500-tonne ship in early 2006. Fifteen Danish shipbuilding companies, three large financial institutions and the Danish Embassy in Hanoi have joined forces with Vinashin and Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) to organise a workshop on cooperation and development in shipbuilding industries in Vietnam and Denmark.
