Fairmount Tugs Delivers FPSO Petrojarl Knarr

Three tugs of Fairmount Marine have towed the brand new FPSO Petrojarl Knarr from South Korea to Norway in just 61 days. Petrojarl Knarr, one of world’s largest floating production and storage units (FPSO) for harsh environments, was delivered in the port of Haugesund, Norway, September 16th 2014. The entire voyage was under command of lead tug master Kees de Graaff on board of the leading tug Fairmount Sherpa. The newly delivered FPSO Petrojarl Knarr is 256.4 meters long and 48 meters wide with a dwt of 135,000 tons. The vessel is owned by Teekay Corporation and is build by Samsung Heavy Industries in Geoje, South Korea. Petrojarl Knarr will be deployed later in the Knarr oil and gas field offshore Norway.

Boskalis Achieves Higher Revenue In Q1 2014

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. reported a higher revenue for the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year. This was in line with company expectations. This achievement was the result of Good utilization of the Dredging and Offshore vessels. Adjusted for the acquisition of Dockwise, which was only included in the consolidated figures from the second quarter of 2013, revenue was also  higher. There was no material change in market circumstances during the quarter in a stable market. At the end of March the group order book was also stable compared to the end of 2013. Revenue in the Dredging & Inland Infra segment was slightly higher than in the first quarter of 2013, partly influenced by projects in Qatar, Brazil and India.

Fairmount Tugs Deliver Rig to Singapore

Fairmount Marine, a Rotterdam-based marine contractor for ocean towage and heavy lift transportation, announced that its tugs Fairmount Summit and Fairmount Alpine towed rig ENSCO 5006 more than 13,000 miles from Cyprus to Singapore. Before the departure off Limasol, Cyprus, both Fairmount tugs performed anchor handling work for the rig. On request of its owners cargo and crew runs were done during a stop off Las Palmas and a bunker stop was made at Port Nqgura, South Africa. Transit speeds up to 9 knots were reached during part of the voyage.

Ultra Deepwater Rig Towed 11,500 Miles

Tug Fairmount Sherpa towed rig Sevan Louisiana safely from Singapore to Curaçao. During the 11,500 miles voyage via Cape of Good Hope, stops were made in Port Louis (Mauritius), Walvis Bay (Namibia) and Port of Spain (Trinidad) to take bunkers and for crew changes. Sevan Louisiana is a so called Ultra Deep Water rig (UDW), built in 2013 at the Cosco shipyard in Nantong, China, for UK-based Seadrill Ltd. The self-propelled rig, equipped with eight thrusters, can accommodate up to 150 crew members.

Pipelayer Towed from Genoa to Rotterdam

Tug Fairmount Glacier has towed pipelay-vessel Castoro Sei to Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from where the vessel will start her seasonal activities on the North Sea. The Fairmount Glacier hooked-up with Castoro Sei in Genoa, Italy. The Castoro Sei is a 28,000 ton DWT 152 meters long semi-submersible pipelay-vessel operated by Italian Saipem. For her towage from Genoa towards Rotterdam the Fairmount Glacier was mobilized from Las Palmas. The convoy reached Gibraltar within six days.

Boskalis Acquires Fairmount Companies

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) announces that it has reached an agreement to acquire Fairmount Marine B.V. and Fairmount Ocean Towage Company B.V. (Fairmount) from the French group Louis Dreyfus Armateurs. The transaction values the company at an average multiple of approximately six times EBITDA. Fairmount Tows Rig from Brazil to Singapore

Fairmount Marine said it has safely delivered rig ENSCO 5002 in Singapore. The rig was towed from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, via Cape Good Hope, by tug Fairmount Expedition. ENSCO 5002 is a 1975 built 70 meters long and 61 meters wide semisubmersible drilling rig. The rig can accommodate up to 110 persons and is capable to drill up to 10,668 meters. Tug Fairmount Expedition hooked-up with the rig offshore Rio de Janeiro mid-November 2013. The convoy arrived in Singapore this week after a 9,200 miles voyage by an average speed of 5-6 knots.

Drifting Bulker Towed from Mid-Atlantic

Fairmount Marine said its tug, Fairmount Glacier, has safely delivered bulk carrier Cassiopeia Star in the port of Las Palmas, Canary Islands. The bulker was picked up during bad weather on the mid-Atlantic where she was drifting with main engine problems. Fairmount Marine, a marine contractor for ocean towage and heavy lift transportation, was contracted by Tsavliris Salvage to assist. After steaming at full speed for 1,720 miles the Fairmount Glacier met with the still drifting Cassiopeia Star.

Fairmount Delivers ENSCO Rig in Malta

Fairmount Marine said it had delivered rig ENSCO 5004 in Malta at the end of a voyage that began offshore Rio de Janeiro. Rig ENSCO 5004 is a 1982 built 94.7 meters long and 70.4 meters wide semi-submersible drilling rig. The towage of rig ENSCO 5004 from Rio de Janeiro to Malta took about 5,782 nautical miles and during the voyage speeds well over seven knots were reached. Fairmount Marine is a marine contractor for ocean towage and heavy lift transportation, headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Fairmount Tugboat Takes ENSCO Rig From Rio to Malta

Fairmount Marine say they have safely delivered the semi-submersible drilling rig ENSCO 5004 to Malta at the end of a voyage that began offshore Rio de Janeiro. The 5,782 nautical mile towage of the 94,7 meters long and 70,4 meters wide rig from from Rio de Janeiro to Malta was accomplished at speeds well over 7 knots at times. Fairmount Marine, part of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group, is a marine contractor for ocean towage and heavy lift transportation, headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Drilling Rig Delivered in Las Palmas

Fairmount Marine’s tug Fairmount Summit has delivered rig Ocean Valiant safely in the port of Las Palmas, Canary Islands. Fairmount Summit has towed the rig from offshore Cameroon over a distance of almost 3,000 miles. The Ocean Valiant is a semi-submersible drilling rig owned by Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc., headquartered in Houston, U.S. The 1988 build rig is 122 meters long, 71 meters wide and 37 meters high, is capable to drill up to 10,000 meters deep and can accommodate 140 persons.

Fairmount Tugs Assist FPSO OSX3 Installation

Fairmount Marine’s tugs Fairmount Glacier and Fairmount Expedition have assisted in the installation of FPSO OSX3 in the Tubarão Martelo oilfield offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both Fairmount tugs were part of a five unit strong fleet of tugs contracted to hook-up the OSX3 to her anchors. Fairmount Fuji Assists Saipem in Congolese Waters

Fairmount Marine’s multipurpose vessel Fairmount Fuji has assisted Italian contractor Saipem with her operations offshore Congo. Fairmount Fuji has performed several cargo runs between Siapem’s Boscongo yard in Pointe Noire and the offshore Congo moored drilling ship Siapem 1000. Fairmount Fuji also took care of the transport of Saipem crew. Drilling ship Saipem 1000, a fifth-generation drilling ship for ultra deepwater operations, was moored offshore Congo pending her next assignment. Fairmount Marine was contracted to assist in the crew change and in the transfer of cargo.

“Floating Gas Plant” Toscana Delivered

Tugs Fairmount Summit and Fairmount Alpine have delivered the very first “floating gas plant” in the world, the FSRU Toscana, safely offshore Livorno, Italy. The Toscana, a one of a kind unit, was towed from Dubai via Malta where final equipment was installed. After delivering the Toscana, both Fairmount tugs assisted in mooring the unit to her six pre installed anchors. The Toscana is a so-called floating, storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) which is now moored 12 miles offshore Livorno and will be used as a terminal and export point for liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Fairmount Sherpa Delivers Accommodation Barge

Tug Fairmount Sherpa has delivered accommodation barge Ayang 2 offshore Angola. The barge was towed from Romania to a location offshore Porto Amboim. The Ayang 2 is an accommodation and work barge owned by the offshore division of Korean group Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. The 115-meter-long and 32-meter- wide barge, which can accommodate over 350 people, had undergone an upgrading at DSME’s Romanian shipyard in Mangalia, located at the Black Sea coast. For this towage job Fairmount Marine was contracted by Daewoo’s logistics team.

Tugboat 'Fairmount Expedition' Tows OSV into Port Paramaribo

'Fairmount Expedition' delivers offshore support vessel (OSV) 'Harvey Rover' safely in the port of Paramaribo, Suriname after the OSV had engine problems in the South Atlantic. Harvey Rover encountered engine problems while en route from South Africa to Trinidad. Super-tug Fairmount Expedition was in Trinidad when her assistance was required by the owner of Harvey Rover, US-based Harvey Gulf International. When facing engine problems the 2010 build, 3.134 DWT, 75 meters long OSV was en route towards Trinidad and about 330 miles North-East of Brazilian port Ponta de Madeira.

Fairmount Glacier Delivers Rig in Pointe-Noire

Super tug Fairmount Glacier has delivered rig Falcon 100 safely offshore Pointe-Noire, Congo. The rig was towed from Rio de Janeiro via the South Atlantic Ocean over a distance of more than 3,400 miles. The Falcon 100 is a 1974 build semi submersible drilling rig, owned by U.S.-based Transocean and capable to drill to a depth of 7.620 meters. For this job the Fairmount Glacier was mobilized from Trinidad. First the tug towed the Falcon 100 from her drilling location offshore Macae, Brazil, to offshore Rio de Janeiro.

Fairmount Glacier Delivered Rig La Muralla IV in Mexico

Tug Fairmount Glacier has delivered rig La Muralla IV in Bay of Campeche, Mexico. The rig has been towed from Okpo, South Korea, via Sunda Strait and Cape of Good Hope. La Muralla IV is a brand new semi-submersible drilling rig for ultra deep water operations, owned by Mexican Grupo R. The rig is constructed by Deawoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea. La Muralla IV is designed to drill up to depths of 10.000 meters. The rig has a length of 118,6 meters and a width of 96,7 meters.

Fairmount Alpine Delivers Emma Maersk in Palermo

Super tug Fairmount Alpine has delivered the container vessel Emma Maersk at Fincantieri’s repair yard in Palermo, Sicily. To tow the 398 meter long 156,907 DWT Emma Maersk towards Palermo Fairmount Marine was contracted by Maersk Line. Tug Fairmount Alpine happened to be in the eastern Mediterranean area and was promptly mobilized to Port Said, where Emma Maersk has discharged her cargo at the Suez Channel Container Terminal. Fairmount Alpine and Emma Maersk left Port Said on Sunday February 17 for the 1,276 miles voyage to Palermo, where the convoy arrived on Monday February 25.

Fairmount Pair Tows Rig Noble Max Smith to Brazil

Super tugs Fairmount Sherpa and Fairmount Expedition have towed the drilling rig Noble Max Smith from the Gulf to Brazil. Both tugs hooked-up in Pascagoula Mississippi, USA. For this job the Fairmount Sherpa and the Fairmount Expedition were mobilized to the departure location from there previous projects. Fairmount Sherpa had just delivered the rig Atwood Condor in Trinidad after a speedy crossing of the Atlantic and the turbulent waters around the Cape of Good Hope and Fairmount Expedition was successfully involved in the salvage of the ill fated container vessel MSC Flaminia.

Fairmount Tugs Deliver Noble Tamar Jacket

'Fairmount Summit' & 'Fairmount Alpine' tow laden barge from Corpus Christi US to Mediterranean offshore field. Both tugs towed the barge on which the 18,500 ton jacket was loaded from the US to the field South-East of Cyprus. In Corpus Christi the jacket was loaded on Heerema Marine Contractor's 260 meters long barge H-851, the world’s largest launch and cargo barge. From this port the convoy set sail for the 9,000 miles voyage, which took only 54 days at an average speed of 6.9 knots to deliver the barge in the Tamar field.

Fairmount Marine’s multipurpose support vessel Fairmount Fuji has supported Angolan maritime service provider Octomar Serviços Maritimos in underwater maintenance of the drilling rig Transocean Rather.
