What Goes Around Comes Around - Sale of Ex-Sanko Energy Firming AHTS Values

Those who are old enough (or young enough) to remember Justin Timberlake’s poignant lyrics, ‘What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way back around’, will appreciate their significance and relatability to the offshore oil and gas market. On that theme, it appears a vessel very close to my heart, the AHTS previously known as Sanko Energy (now Ena Shogun), has come 'all the way back around.'News is filtering through the market that Eastern Navigation (Singapore) has sold the vessel five years after purchasing it from Sanko Steamship in early 2017.So why does this vessel resonate with me? Well, from a professional perspective, it was my first analyst experience of a sale that went against everything established market experts thought about values and sale prices.

Solstad Offshore Offloads Anchor Handling Trio, Nabs UK Work for PSV Duo

Offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore said Thursday it had sold three anchor handling vessels to undisclosed buyers, and also secured work for two platform supply vessels in the UK North Sea.Haugesund, Norway-based company said Thursday it had sold the Nor Captain  - owned by its subsidiary Solstad Offshore Singapore - and Far Sword and Far Stream, owned by its subsidiary Farstad Supply."Delivery of the vessels to the new owner took place today, February 3rd, 2022. Solstad Lines Up Contract for Far Stream

Norwegian ship owner Solstad Offshore said it has secured work for its 2006-built anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) Far Stream supporting a six-well drilling program for a major Malaysian operator.The 285-day contract is due to commence in March 2020 and includes an optioin to extend the charter for an another 60 days.

SolstadFarstad Wins New Contracts in Australia

SolstadFarstad ASA (SOFF) has been awarded several new contracts for the provision of vessels within Australia. McDermott International Inc. affiliated company, MAPL have awarded the provision of a General Purpose Support Vessel, Far Stream, and pipe-haul PSV’s performing services for work Offshore Western Australia. The contract is due to commence during Q1/Q2 2018 and the combined vessels utilization is approx. 200 days. Cooper Energy has supplemented their earlier award of Far Saracen and Far Senator for their upcoming Bass Strait drilling campaign, by awarding a third anchor handler, Far Statesman, for a period of 100 days firm with commencement during 1Q 2018.

Farstad Offshore Vessel Squadron Chartered Out

Inpex has awarded contracts to AHTS Far Sword (2006, UT 712 L, 14.700 BHP) and AHTS Far Stream (2006, UT 712 L, 14.700 BHP). Commencement is expected to take place in November 2014. The duration of the contracts will be approx. 40 months, with further up to 24 months options. In addition the PSV Far Seeker (2008, UT 751 E, 4.905 DWT) has been awarded a contract by Inpex with commencement expected to be in November 2014. The contract is for a firm duration of 18 month with further up to 24 months options. The vessel is for the time being traded in the North Sea. Woodside Energy Ltd. has awarded AHTS Far Sirius (2014, UT 731 CD, 24.400 BHP) a 16 month contract, with further up to 18 months options. Commencement is expected to take place in October 2014.
