Putin Approves Transfer of State-owned Shares in Shipping Company to Rosatom

President Vladimir Putin signed on Wednesday a decree transferring to Russia's state nuclear power company Rosatom state-owned shares of the Far Eastern Shipping Company, parent company of transportation group Fesco.Fesco was formerly controlled by Ziyavudin Magomedov, who was convicted last year on organized crime and embezzlement charges and is serving a 19-year jail sentence following one of the highest-profile prosecutions of a Russian tycoon in years.Magamedov says the charges are unfounded and is appealing his conviction.

FESCO Transports RTG Cranes Via NSR

FESCO Transportation Group, the largest intermodal transport operator in Russia,  has performed relocation of four Liebherr rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from Petrolesport (part of Global Ports Group) in St. Petersburg to Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (part of Global Ports Group) in Vrangel (Primorsky Krai)."To ensure minimum transit time, the transportation of RTG cranes was carried out along the Northern Sea Route. The sea passage took 28 days, while transit time on the route through the Suez Canal would take about 52 days," said a press release.Transportation was made by vessel Nordic Svalbard, equipped with heavy-lift cranes.

FESCO Adds New Container Ship

FESCO Transportation Group, the largest intermodal transport operator in Russia, announced that a new container ship of ice class  ESCO Moneron has recently joined the fleet.The national flag of the Russian Federation was raised on the ship on 21 November 2019.Container ship with a capacity of 822 TEU will be operated on FESCO Magadan cabotage service (FML), that already includes FESCO Magadan sister ship, purchased last year, and FESCO Posyet universal bulk carrier.FESCO Moneron container ship is planned to be put on the line in the end of 2019 or in the beginning of 2020 at the latest.Arc4 ice class of the vessel complies with the standards needed for work in the northern part of the Sea of Okhotsk in winter. The ship is fitted with modern equipment and has a high degree of automation.

Vasiliy Golovnin to Supply India's Antarctica Station

Russia's Far East Shipping Company (FESCO) and the National Center for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences of India have extended the contract for supplying India’s research stations in Antarctica.“Vasiliy Golovnin” – an icebreaking cargo ship – will deliver general cargo, food products and fuel to Bharati and Maitri stations during Antarctica’s summer in 2019-2020.Scientists of the National Center for Polar and Ocean Research will also join the expedition for the research. Expansion for Far East and Trans-Siberian Railway

FESCO Buys New Containership

FESCO Transportation Group, the largest intermodal transport operator in Russia, announced that the ice-class container vessel “FESCO Magadan”, with full capacity of 822 TEU, joined its fleet."The flag of the Russian Federation was solemnly raised on the ship on July 2, the day of the formation of the city of Vladivostok," said a press note from the public transportation and logistics company.The container ship will be operated on FESCO cabotage service “FESCO Magadan Line”. FESCO Opens Routes to Ports of Chukotka

FESCO Optimizes the Rotation

Russian shipping company FESCO Transportation Group announced that as part of the development of FESCO Fast Forward services it is optimizing the rotation and changing the names of regular shipping lines from China and the Republic of Korea to Russia.Transportation services between China and Russia will be carried out under the brand FESCO China Express, and between the Republic of Korea and Russia - under the brand FESCO Korea Express.FESCO China Express will operate on two routes: Vladivostok-Vostochny-Shekou-Yantian-Xiamen-Ningbo-Shanghai-Vladivostok and the fast route - Eastern Arrow – Vladivostok-Qingdao-Shanghai-Ningbo-Vladivostok.

HMM, FESCO Expand Cooperation

South Korean major Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) unveiled its plans to expand cooperation with Russian container line FESCO on their China Russia North Service (CRN).HMM has been jointly operating a China-Korea-Russia weekly service, under the name of ‘CRN’ with FESCO and CMA CGM.With the expansion of cooperation, the current CRN will be reorganized and two of new direct services connecting Korea and Russia, named 'KR2 (Korea Russia Service 2)' and 'KRS (Korea Russia Service)', will be introduced in the service network of HMM.HMM deploys one vessel (1,000 TEU) on the KR2 which directly connects Busan and Vostochny, while FESCO places one vessel (1,200 TEU) on the KRS, the direct service between Busan and Vladivostok.The commencement date of respective service is on May 11 for KR2 and on Ma

HMM New Service in North China, Korea and Russia

Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) announces the launch of a new North China-Korea-Russia weekly service, under the name of ‘CRN (China Russia North Service)’. The CRN service covers the ports of ‘Qingdao-Shanhai-Ningbo-Pusan-Vladivostok-Vostochny-Pusan-Qingdao’ and will begin on March 31. HMM will deploy one container ship on the route, and FESCO will place two vessels on the route. HMM has been offering CRS (China Russia South Service) services on South China-Middle China-Korea-Russia in cooperation with FESCO and CMA-CGM. From March 30, the CRS service will change its port ration to ‘Hong Kong-Chiwan-Xiamen-Ningbo-Shanghai-Vladivostok-Vostochny-Hong Kong’ to provide a direct service from China to Vladivostok.

FESCO Fleet Adds New Ice-class Container Vessel

The container vessel “FESCO Nagaevo” with deadweight of 5 215 tons joined the fleet of FESCO Transportation Group. The vessel will operate under the Russian flag, the port of registry is Vladivostok. The vessel’s full capacity is 508 TEU, and the ship can carry up to 52 refrigerated containers. The ice rate meets the standards required for operation in the Far East region. The vessel is fitted with modern equipment and has a high-class automation system. “FESCO Nagaevo” container vessel will be operated on FESCO cabotage service lines. The launch of this new container carrier on FESCO KORSAKOV DIRECT LINE (FKDL) is scheduled for the beginning of January, 2017.

HMM, FESCO and CMA CGM Launch Joint CRS Loop

Prior to the launch, HMM has been jointly operating two services ‘KRS (Korea Russia Service)’ and ‘KR2 (Korea Russia Service 2)’ with FESCO. HMM merged the two joint loops and broaden its service coverage to the South China and the Middle China, and changed the service name to CRS, which was also joined by a French carrier CMA CGM. The new weekly service turns in three weeks with three ships of 2,700-4,600 teus those were provided by each company. The service calls at Hong Kong, Chiwan, Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Vladivostok (Commercial Port), Vostochny, Busan, Hong Kong. While cooperating with FESCO and CMA CGM for CRS, HMM has also been joining hands with FESCO for ‘CRN (China Russia North Service),’ which connects China and Russia with two 1,700 teu container ships.

FESCO Trans-Caspian Service Links Russia and Iran

FESCO Transportation Group, in cooperation with the Maritime port of Olya, is launching the Trans-Caspian intermodal service FESCO Russia Iran Service (FRIS), to carry out freightage between Russia and Iran. The service includes shipping over the Caspian, railway and/or motorway transportation over Russia, highway transportation over the territory of Iran, as well as transshipment in ports Olya and Nowshahr or Bandar-e Anzali. Accepted for shipping are containerized and general cargoes; the shipping is performed in accordance with FESCO’s through bill of lading. The estimated en-route time between the Russian port of Olya and the Iranian ports is 5 days. The test consignment of containers loaded with industrial freights was delivered to Iran on March 13, 2016.

Navios Europe Takes Delivery of Four Additional Vessels

ABB Azipod: Performance in Harsh Environs

ABB received an endorsement from two leading Russian customers on the performance of Azipod propulsion in the harshest environments in the marine sector. The impending fourth anniversary of the delivery of the ice breaking tug Polar Pevek has prompted the vessel’s technical management company OOO Polarus to offer its approval of Azipod propulsion technology as the “right choice” for extreme ice conditions. Delivered by Aker Langsten in June 2006, the 940 dwt Polar Pevek is owned through the GC Rieber Shipping/Primorsk Shipping Corp joint venture Polar Pevek Ltd, registered in Cyprus. The DnV Ice 10 IB offers 115 tons of bollard pull ahead, and 95 tons astern.

FESCO Transports 2014 Olympics Equipment

FESCO Logistics, a provider of worldwide logistics services and a division of FESCO North America, delivered a 100-ton roadheader to Novorossiysk, Russia for transshipment to Sochi, Russia for construction of the site of the 2014 winter Olympics. The Alpine Miner ATM 105-IC is a boom-type roadheader of the 100-ton class. The piece of equipment is used for mechanized tunneling in hard and abrasive rock formations. The cargo was loaded onto a MAFI trailer, secured by 15 chain lashings, in Baltimore, Md.
