NICO International to Rep HHI Turbomachinery

Hyundai Heavy Industries Turbomachinery Co., Ltd. (HHI – TMC), a turbomachinery business specializing in pumps for marine, nuclear and industrial field, gas and air compressors, and steam turbines, has entered into a service agent agreement with UAE based marine and industrial engineering company NICO International.With the new alliance in place, NICO said it aims to further strengthen the turbomachinery capabilities in the field of marine and industrial pumps and compressors market in the United Arab Emirates region with the expertise of HHI - TMC.

PGNiG Acquires Duva Field in Norway

PGNiG Upstream Norway, a subsidiary of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG), has obtained a final administrative consent to purchase additional 10% interests in the PL636 and PL636B licences in the North Sea.Following the transaction, PGNiG Upstream Norway’s (PUN) interests in both licences increased to 30%. As a result, the volume of Duva field gas production attributable to the Company will rise to 0.2 bcm per year.“Acquisition of fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is one of the investment priorities of the PGNiG Group. Our aim is to ensure that as much as possible of the gas that will flow from Norway to Poland following the launch of the Baltic Pipe will come from our own production. This is part of our strategy to diversify supplies and strengthen Poland's energy security.

RWE Dea Helps Cleveland Juniors Reach Goals

Yesterday, a new club house for the Cleveland Juniors Football Club in Middlesbrough in northern England was officially opened. With support from RWE Dea, the Football Foundation and other sponsors, Lionsraw collected a total of GBP 418,000 to complete their first Legacy Project in the United Kingdom. The club house and a lease will secure the future of the junior football club in the long term. Former Middlesbrough and England manager Steve McClaren officially opened the new clubhouse on Wednesday. Construction, including showers, lockers, toilets and office facilities in northern England, began on 4 March 2014. The new building replaces the old storage containers the young football players and children have been using as changing room until now.

HongHua Group Signs Agreement for GE Waukesha Gas Engines

With China seeking to boost its production of unconventional gas supplies to meet Asia's growing energy needs, GE Power & Water's Distributed Power business (NYSE: GE) and China's leading drill rig manufacturer HongHua Group (HK 196) today signed a three-year agreement for GE to supply its Waukesha VHP gas engines that will power drill rigs used in new shale gas projects in China. The announcement was made at the Offshore Technology Conference being held in Houston. In recent years, GE's gas engine factory in Waukesha, Wisconsin, has seen orders steadily increase as more countries seek to develop their domestic natural gas resources to increase their local energy independence.

Dana Gas Inks Adyard Offshore Platform Contract

Middle East’s leading regional private sector natural gas company, Dan Gas, has awarded Adyard Abu Dhabi a subsidiary of Interserve plc, a $17 million contract for the fabrication of an offshore platform for the Zora Field Development Project which spans the territorial waters of Sharjah and Ajman, UAE. The platform is an important element in the overall scope of the Zora project, the aim of which is to extract the reserves from the Zora field through an offshore facility and to transport the reserves via a 35km subsea pipeline to an onshore gas processing facility in Sharjah onshore area.

Dana Gas Revenues Grow 21%

Dana Gas, one of Middle East’s largest regional private sector natural gas company, announces its financial results for the third quarter and nine month ended September 30, 2013 with a net profit of $28 million and $121 million (USD) respectively. Gross revenue for the third quarter was significantly higher at $170 million, an increase of 21% on Q3 2012. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortization and exploration (EBITDAX) was $93 million which was considerably higher by $6 million than in Q3 2012. Net profit remained flat year-on-year due to higher royalty and higher depreciation in line with higher production in Egypt. Accordingly, the Group posting a net profit of $28 million in Q3 2013 compared to $29 million in Q3 2012.

Caley Upgrades Saipem Reel Carousel

Offshore handling systems specialist, Caley Ocean Systems completed the refurbishment and upgrade of a 2,500-ton, 25-meter diameter reel carousel for Italian offshore contractor Saipem. The reel carousel will be used to transport umbilicals and flowlines from Norway to China on Big Lift heavy lift vessel Happy Rover, for the deepwater Liwan 3-1 field gas project in the South China Sea. Originally supplied over 15 years ago by Caley, the carousel has been extensively used by Saipem on a wide range of projects.

Pilot Program to Convert Drill Rigs' Power Plants to LNG

EQT Corporation has announced the launch of a pilot program to begin converting drilling rigs to liquefied natural gas (LNG), displacing the diesel used to power equipment at the well site. Serimax Awarded Welding Contract for Gas Sul North Capixaba (GSNC) project

Serimax, a 100% subsidiary of Vallourec, has been awarded the welding contract for the Gas Sul North Capixaba (GSNC) project by Subsea 7 in Brazil. Serimax will provide welding services on 151km of 18” sour service pipeline, which will run parallel to the Brazilian coast and links the Camarupim Field gas pipeline to the Parque des Baleias complex. The project management will be run from Serimax’s Brazilian facility, with welder performance qualification taking place in Houston and offshore installation onboard the vessel Polaris scheduled to start in November and completed toward the end of February 2012. Pearl GTL Plant Open for Business

Qatar Petroleum and Shell announced that the Pearl gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant, located in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar, has sold its first commercial shipment of GTL Gasoil. The sale marks the start of production of GTL products when the State of Qatar and Shell, the operator of the Pearl GTL plant, begin to receive revenue from the project. Over the coming months, production will ramp up from the first production unit (‘train’) of the Pearl GTL project. The second train is expected to start up before the end of 2011. Major milestone: First Gas Flows From Offshore Into The Pearl GTL Plant In Qatar

Qatar Petroleum and Shell today announced the first flow of dedicated offshore gas into the Pearl GTL plant located in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar. Shell, which is the operator of the Pearl GTL plant developed under a Production and Sharing Agreement with QP, has opened natural gas wells offshore allowing the first sour gas to flow through a subsea pipeline into the giant GTL plant onshore. Sections of the Pearl GTL plant will be started up progressively over the coming months.
