LiqTech International,  a clean technology company that manufactures and markets highly specialized filtration technologies, announced the receipt of the Company's largest single order to date for its proprietary ceramic silicon carbide water filtration systems for marine scrubber applications.The order was placed by one of the world's three largest shipping companies and follows the recent installation and system deployment by this same customer on the two largest container ships in the world. Evac, the world’s leading provider of integrated waste, wastewater, and water management systems for the marine, offshore, and building industries, is to acquire Cathelco, a leading global manufacturer of equipment for ships and offshore installations.Cathelco customers include Evac’s current marine and offshore customer groups, including ship owners, shipyards, fleet managers, rig owners and operators, oil companies, navies, and designers.The acquisition gives Evac the opportunity to further expand its cleantech solution portfolio to its customers with the addition of new systems, while also opening up new business opportunities in terms of ballast water treatment systems.

Evac announced it will acquire Cathelco, a  manufacturer of equipment for ships and offshore installations, a synergistic move for Evac as Cathelco customers include Evac’s current marine and offshore customer groups, including ship owners, shipyards, fleet managers, rig owners and operators, oil companies, navies, and designers. The acquisition gives Evac the opportunity to further expand its cleantech solution portfolio to its customers with the addition of new systems, while also opening up new business opportunities in terms of ballast water treatment systems.

The members of the Canadian Shipowners Association (CSA) have partnered with Great Ships Initiative (GSI), a project of the Northeast-Midwest Institute, a regional nonprofit research center headquartered in Washington, DC. Efficacy tests of ballast water filtration systems in the unique, cold, fresh waters of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Waterway (GLSLW) will take place this summer at the GSI ballast treatment testing facility in Superior, Wisconsin. To date no technology has been type-approved for operation in the GLSLW waters, where Canadian vessels operate. Canadian shipowners are looking proactively to find practical solutions to ballast water management.
