Caterpillar Secures Complete Propulsion Systems Order

Caterpillar Marine announced that Cat power and propulsion solutions have been selected to provide an optimized tug package for a 55T ASD tug new build for Remolcadores Marracoi SL (REMARSL). Two Cat 3512C EPA Tier 2 propulsion engines have been selected to power the tug as well as 2x  MTA 523FP Azimuth thrusters. Each Cat 3512C marine propulsion engine will provide 2x1765 kw @1800 rpm of rated power. Auxiliary power will be delivered through 2 x Cat C9 engines. The vessel will be constructed at Freinaval shipyards in Spain. Cat dealer Finanzauto led Caterpillar efforts on the project. Completing the comprehensive Caterpillar efforts on the sale was Cat Financial, who was able to deliver a stellar financial package for the customer.

Caterpillar Provides Power Solutions for Norwegian OSV

MaK Propulsion Engines, DEP solutions chosen for Ostensjo Rederi AS  newbuild. Caterpillar Marine Power Systems was recently selected to provide 2x 6 M 25 C and 2x 9 M 25 C propulsion engines for an Ostensjo Rederi AS offshore supply newbuild. Each 6 M 25 C engine will provide 2000 kW @ 750 rpm. The 9 M 25 C will each provide 3000 kW @ 750 rpm of rated power. All engines feature a new innovative air injection system, designed to ensure load response remains in a low rpm range and are packaged with the Siemens BLUEDRIVE PlusC diesel electric propulsion systems. Euroferry's Fast Ferry Features CAT 3618 Power

The world's largest diesel powered fast catamaran ferry has entered service for Spanish operator Euroferrys and is now working on a route between Algeciras in southern Spain and Ceuta the Spanish principality on the north African coast, across the strait of Gibraltar. Euroferrys Pacifica is a 331 ft. (101 m) car ferry, which is the largest of Austal's flagship Auto Express type vessel and the largest high-speed catamaran in the world with diesel propulsion. With an immersed hull length of 291 ft. (88.7 m), molded beam of 87 ft. (26.6 m) and hull draft of 14 ft. (4.2 m), Euroferrys Pacifica has a passenger capacity of 951 passengers and 251 cars. The propulsion package comprises 4 x Caterpillar 3618 engines, 4 x Reintjes VLJ6831 gearboxes and 4 x Kamewa 125 SII waterjets.
