Adnoc Inks Base Oil Deal with IOC

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) announced that it has signed another significant long-term sales agreement with Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) for its high-quality base oil called ADbase.IndianOil is the largest seller of finished lubricants in the Indian market with approximate volume of 450,000 tonnes per annum. Cepsa, GP Global to Produce Marine Lubricants in India

Cepsa and Global Energy Private Limited (GPGEPL), part of UAE-based global conglomerate GP Global, have announced an exclusive partnership to manufacture and market Cepsa branded marine and power generation lubricants in India.As per the agreement, GP Global will manufacture, package and even import Cepsa branded lubricant products in India.“India is a huge market for port modernization and coastal shipping development. Major initiatives have been taken in this direction by our government. This partnership is our contribution to the governments Make in India vision and the vibrancy of the sector is a clear sign of resurgent interest in its potential.

OK. Full disclosure. We spent more than ‘five minutes’ on the phone with Chia Yoo Soon, General Manager, Finished Lubricants – Marine, Chevron Marine Lubricants. But given that we are based in New York and he is based in Singapore, the time difference mandated an efficient conversation for both. Shell & Hyundai Open S. Korea Base Oil Plant

A joint venture company formed by Shell and Hyundai Oilbank, has inaugurated a new base oil manufacturing plant in Daesan, South Korea. The plant has the capacity to produce approximately 13,000 barrels per day or 650 kilotonnes of API Group II base oils per year. (Base oils are the key component of finished lubricants, making up on average of 60-80% of the end product). Mark Gainsborough, Executive Vice President for Shell Lubricants, said: “As the demand for higher quality lubricants is on the rise in Asia, the region is shifting away from Group I base oils towards increased use of Group II and Group III base oils. The plant was built to capture the growing demand for Group II base oils in Asia.

Chevron Announces Alliance with Petrol Ofisi

Chevron has signed agreements with the fuel products distribution and lubricants company of Turkey, Petrol Ofisi in Istanbul, that will result in improved supplies of marine lubricants to ship operators and managers operating in Turkey.
