James Fisher’s Second Dual-fuel Vessel Enters Service

James Fisher and Sons plc announced it has taken delivery of its second 6,000dwt LNG dual-fuel tanker, Lady Maria Fisher, which will be traded by James Fisher Everard (JFE) alongside its existing fleet.Built and launched at China Merchants Jinling (CMJL) shipyard in Yangzhou, China, the vessel is currently transporting cashew nut shell oil from Vietnam to Europe, where it will then be processed into bio-diesel.The newbuild and sister vessel Sir John Fisher delivered in November 2022 will replace two of James Fisher’s existing tankers and will be able to carry more cargo.

James Fisher to Add LNG-fueled Vessels to Its Fleet

U.K.-based James Fisher said it will add two liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel product tankers to its fleet during 2022.The 6,000dwt vessels will be traded by James Fisher Everard (JFE).Specifically designed for ports with restricted access around the coastline of Northern Europe, the IMO II vessels are said to be the first product tankers of their size with the capability to run on LNG fuel.Eoghan O’Lionaird, James Fisher CEO, said, “I’m very proud that JFE is taking action now to support our customers, the maritime industry and the group in achieving our collective sustainability goals.

Damen Delivers Second Oil Tanker to James Fisher Everard

The Damen Double Hull Oil Tanker 8000 Kestrel Fisher was delivered end 2013 to Dutch managers De OpfeartBeheer. In a two-tanker deal, the Kestrel Fisher’s sister vessel King Fisher was delivered in June 2013. Both have been built by Damen Shipyards Bergum. The oil (product) tankers’ names are a reference to James Fisher Everard Ltd., which have taken up their commercial management. The 7,076-deadweight, 8,363-cubic-meter tankers were christened at the DSB-yard in Harlingen where they were outfitted; their hulls were built by Damen Shipyards Galati, Romania.
