The US Department of Defense inform that Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas, is being awarded a $9,410,083 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm fixed-price task orders contract for the provision of education courses to sailors, both instructor led and distance learning, to include courses for academic skills, undergraduate and graduate levels. The contract will include a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, which if exercised, will bring the amount to $48,898,382. Work will be performed onboard various Navy ships (64 percent); San Diego, California (15 percent); Norfolk, Virginia (15 percent); Mayport, Florida (2 percent); Bremerton/Everett, Washington (2 percent); and Yokosuka, Japan (2 percent), and work is expected to be completed Sept. 30, 2015.

American Systems, a provider of federal IT and engineering solutions, announced that it was awarded a Department of Navy (DoN) Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific (CNSP) Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center contract valued up to $23.5 million. In winning this contract award, American Systems will continue supporting the Engineering Readiness Assist Teams (ERATs) program. This program was established to assist U.S. Navy sailors in engineering, combat systems, and deck departments increase their operational, repair and maintenance knowledge, and combat readiness through a unique and realistic training approach.

Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) has been awarded a $5.5 million contract by the Naval Supply (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC), Puget Sound, Washington to provide process support to the U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC). LCE will work with the planning and engineering departments to develop and issue job summaries and task-group instructions in the Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) system for carriers and surface ships ported in Yokosuka, Japan.

US Department of Defense has awarded the following Navy contracts for worldwide logistic services, and secondly for port operations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor, Hickam, Hawaii. CACI, Inc.-Federal, Chantilly, Va., is being awarded $14,210,271 for two modifications under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00033-08-D-6506) with firm-fixed-price task orders for worldwide logistics services supporting Military Sealift Command’s Logistics directorate. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., (75 percent); Chantilly, Va., (10 percent); San Diego, Calif., (5 percent); Guam, (5 percent) and other overseas locations (5 percent), and is expected to be completed by October 2014.

Huntington Ingalls Industries subsidiary AMSEC LLC wins IT support services contract to support Department of the Navy. "This is truly a big win for AMSEC," said Michael Bernardi, program manager within the AMSEC's logistics, engineering, technology and training solutions group. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price contract contains a one-year base period with two one-year option periods which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to approximately $19.6 million.

L-3 Services, Inc., Unidyne Division, Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $39,488,032 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide submarine mechanical/electronic system engineering, analytical, logistics and technical support services for Command, Norfolk Ship Support Activity. This contract contains one option, which, if exercised, will bring the contract value to $79,763,280. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va. (60 percent); Portsmouth, N.H. (5 percent); Kings Bay, Ga. (5 percent); Groton, Conn. (10 percent); Bremerton, Wash. (5 percent); San Diego, Calif. (5 percent); Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (5 percent); and Guam (5 percent). Work is expected to be completed by April 15, 2013.
