C-MAP Wins Chevron Shipping Contract

Following a competitive tender, Chevron Shipping Company LLC (CSC) has selected smart shipping solutions from C-MAP, a provider of commercial marine charting and cloud-based software solutions for fleet management and route optimization.CSC will deploy C-MAP’s onboard platform that employs advanced algorithms and customized ship performance models to deliver voyage optimization. Torqeedo Partners with Sentinel Marine Solutions and WhisperPower

Torqeedo has announced strategic agreements to integrate Sentinel Boat Monitors and WhisperPower smart power generation systems into its electric boat propulsion product offerings. The announcements were made in a press conference at the Dusseldorf International Boat Show Jan. 23. The Sentinel Boat Monitors are now fully integrated with Torqeedo’s Cruise, Travel and Ultralight electric propulsion systems. The Sentinel app allows remote monitoring of the vessel’s location and onboard systems, and provides automatic alerts of any malfunctions and alarms.

Container and bulk shipping company Universal Marine and MirTac, a provider of fleet management solutions, have implemented Star Fleet Management software onboard the new bulk carriers mv Pride and mv Star II. Recently, a joint venture between Universal Shipping & Trading (part of the Universal Marine group) and NedNor, brought the relatively small bulkers mv Pride and mv StarII into service in bareboat charter to carry dry and break bulk along the coasts of the Atlantic. BASS Lands Deal in the Taiwanese Market

ABB wins order for energy management systems for five multi-purpose vessels; Energy and fleet management systems will improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions for five Rickmers vessels. ORBCOMM Partners With FMS

ORBCOMM, a global satellite telecommunications company, entered into an agreement with Fleet Management Solutions LLC to provide wireless data access through its low-earth-orbit satellite network for tracking and managing fixed and mobile assets around the world. FMS is launching their ORBCOMM enabled MLT 300 Series tracking solution nationwide with roughly twenty selected fleets this month. The MLT 300 provides GPS and other critical sensor information to end-users, with an emphasis on reliability and cost effectiveness. For the initial soft launch, the MLT 300 series is targeting the North American market, leveraging more than 130 dealers for sales and support.
