NAPA Software Solutions Applied For The P&O Ferries Newbuilding The Spirit Of Britain

STX Finland Rauma shipyard has successfully appliead NAPA for finding the optimum subdivision design for the P&O Ferries 49.000 GT newbuildings. These ships are the largest ferries ever to operate in the English Channel. The stability of the vessels complies with the Stockholm Agreement and naturally also with the SOLAS 2009 requirements. After applying the optimising features implemented into NAPA, the designer quickly searched for the maximum safety level that was obtainableā€¦

GAC, provider of shipping, logistics and marine services, announced the launch of GAC Training & Service Solutions Limited (GTSS), a new initiative that will provide training solutions for the LNG and tanker markets, as well as other commodity and maritime sectors. A joint venture between GAC and the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI), the partnership will provide expert delivery of a portfolio of training courses for both seafarers and shore-based shipping personnel.

Napa First Full-Scale Ship Flooding Tests

Napa Ltd is continuing its research into the physics of a flooding vessel; this effort is part of Ship Flooding, a national research project on progressive flooding and damage stability of ships being conducted in Finland. The other partners are the Finnish Naval Research Institute, Technical Research Center of Finland (VTT), Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) and STX Finland Cruise Ltd. The project is funded in part by Tekes (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation).
