Brennan Named Director of NOAA’s National Hurricane Center

NOAA has selected Mike Brennan, Ph.D., to serve as the next director of NOAA’s National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, as preparations continue ahead of the 2023 hurricane season. He will assume this new role effective today, April 10, 2023.“The NHC director is one of the most visible and important jobs in the nation, and Mike possesses the right combination of experience, leadership and personal traits to prepare and guide us through major storms,” said Rick Spinrad, Ph.D., NOAA Administrator.

Carnival Cruise Line Names Campbell CFO

Carnival Cruise Line said it has named Darrell Campbell as chief financial officer. He joins the U.S.-based cruise operator from parent company Carnival Corporation where he has served as corporate treasurer since 2017.Prior to his role at Carnival Corp, Campbell served as an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He is a licensed CPA in Florida and New Hampshire. He has master's degrees in accounting from Florida International University and in international business from the University of Florida. He also holds a bachelor's degree from University of the West Indies in Jamaica.

Crowley Maritime Corp. has announced the promotion of Tiffanny King and Jeannie Stewart to the positions of vice president of People Services. While each has different areas of focus, both will ultimately support Crowley’s mission of ensuring high-performance and employee development across the company. King and Stewart report to Carl Fox, senior vice president, corporate services, in Jacksonville, where all are based.In her new position, King has responsibility for human resources, compensation and employee health and well being.

Veteran sales executive in ocean transportation and logistics Daniel Vargas has been appointed vice president of international business development to support the Crowley Maritime Corp. liner and logistics services groups. Viega Names Fortuny Technical Manager

Viega LLC has hired Yasmin Fortuny as its new technical manager for its shipbuilding and cruise business development division in the Florida, Puerto Rico, Bahamas and Caribbean regions. In this position, Fortuny is responsible for positioning Viega as the primary choice for marine applications within the cruise line, shipbuilding, mega-yacht, commercial-vessel and military markets. She is also responsible for promoting all of Viega’s marine-approved products, educating key end users and promotion and distribution across all marine channels.

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s Jeannie Eisenhart, director of talent acquisition and employee services, and Bleu Hilburn, director of logistics business development, have been honored with 2015 Thomas Crowley Awards, the company’s highest honor for its employees. Globus Maritime Q2 & Six Month Results

Globus Maritime Limited (AIM: GLBS) (LSE: GLBS), a company with subsidiaries that own and operate Supramax, Panamax, and Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, reported its unaudited consolidated interim operating and financial results for the three months (Q2-10) and six months (H1-10) period ended June 30, 2010, and declares an interim cash dividend of GB 7.3 pence (US 11.29 cents) per share. All the following figures are in United States Dollars, except for the dividend which is in British Pence. Globus had five vessels at the end of June 2010 versus seven vessels at the end of June 2009. -- Fleet utilization of 98.3% (H1-09: 98.7%). -- Fleet utilization of 100% (Q2-09: 98.9%).

Dale Schwieger Promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations
