PSA Group Appoints Peter Voser as Chairman

PSA International Profit Jumps by 5.1% for 2017

Port and terminal operator PSA International posted a 5.1 per cent jump in net profit to S$1.23 billion for the year ended 31 December 2017 on higher revenue and container throughput at its terminals worldwide. The Group’s terminals saw a 9.8% year on year increase in box volumes handled to 74.2m teu. PSA’s flagship Singapore Terminals contributed 33.35 million TEUs, increasing 9.0% over 2016. PSA terminals outside Singapore delivered a total throughput of 40.89 million TEUs, increasing 10.4% over 2016. PSA Singapore Named Best Seaport in Asia

Port operator PSA International was named the best global container terminal operating firm for the second year running, in the 2016 Asian Freight, Logistics & Supply Chain Awards held in Shanghai. PSA also received the “Best Container Terminal – Asia (Over 4 million TEUs)" award. “The Port of Singapore clinched the award for its leading performance on a range of criteria including cost competitiveness, container shipping-friendly fee regime, provision of suitable containing shipping-related infrastructure, timely and adequate investment in new infrastructure to meet future demand and the facilitation of ancillary services,” the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in a press release.

Singapore Opens $3.5bln Phase 3 and 4 of Pasir Panjang Terminal

The $3.5 billion Phase 3 and 4 expansion of Pasir Panjang Terminal was officially opened by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday (June 23). The expansion will add 15 berths with a 6 km quay length to the container terminal's existing 52 berths. The new berths have an 18 m-deep draught. Singapore Grows Box Terminal, Woos Mega-Ships

Singapore opened the newest addition to its container port on Tuesday, aiming to handle more of the increasing number of mega-ships plying the oceans. A few of the planned 15 berths in Phases 3 and 4 of the Pasir Panjang Terminal are operational. The rest of the S$3.5  billion ($2.6 billion) project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017, pushing Singapore's annual container handling capacity to 50 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs), said Singapore's main container terminal operator PSA. All the new berths at Pasir Panjang Terminal, one of PSA's terminals in Singapore, are designed to be able to handle container ships with capacities larger than 10,000 TEUs.

16 Receive Howe Yoon Chong PSA Scholarship

16 deserving students were awarded with the Howe Yoon Chong PSA Scholarship. Mr Fock Siew Wah, Group Chairman of PSA International (PSA), presented the award certificates to the students at a ceremony held in PSA Building in Singapore today. The bond-free scholarships will pay for tuition and other compulsory fees in full, as well as book and living allowances. The 16 Howe Yoon Chong PSA scholars will be pursuing academic studies at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Polytechnics and local Universities. Since its inception in 2009, the Howe Yoon Chong PSA Scholarship program has made a difference to the lives of over 110 young Singaporeans.

PSA Chairman Receives Belgium Award

On 27 November 2014, PSA Group Chairman Fock Siew Wah was conferred the national distinction ‘Commander of the Order of the Crown’ from His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium for his merit, dedication and services rendered to the Kingdom of Belgium. PSA Is “Best Global Container Terminal Operating Co”

PSA International Pte Ltd (PSA) won the “Best Global Container Terminal Operating Company” award for the ninth year, and PSA Singapore Terminals was voted “Best Container Terminal – Asia (over 4 million TEUs per year)” for the 25 time at the 28th Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards(AFSCA) held in Shanghai this evening. China's Tianjin Port & Singapore PSA to Collaborate

So far, PSA has invested in two of the port's container terminals, namely Tianjin Port Pacific International Container Terminal (TPCT) and Tianjin Port Alliance International Container Terminal (TACT). These two facilities have a total of 10 berths that can handle the biggest containerships. This makes "Tianjin Port one of the preferred ports of call for mega containerships in the northeast Asia region," said the joint statement. Said TPG president Tian Chang Song: "Both organisations recognise the tremendous potential of Tianjin Port as a major container hub in the Bohai Rim to support the further development of industries and hinterland investments in northeast China.
