MISC Makes Leadership Change

MISC Group’s President/Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), YBhg. Datuk Yee Yang Chien announced his plan to retire effective September 30, 2022. Roozendaal to head MacGregor Business Area

Michel van Roozendaal (M.Sc. Aerospace Engineering; MBA INSEAD, Fontainebleau; b. 1963) has been appointed President of the MacGregor business area. He will be a member of Cargotec's Executive Board and report to President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen. Michel van Roozendaal joins from Ingersoll-Rand where he has been heading the Thermo King Global Marine, Rail and Bus businesses. Prior to this he has held global general management roles with companies such as United Technologies, Danaher, JCI and Honeywell. With over 25 years in technology businesses with exposure to product development, manufacturing and sales, van Roozendaal has been responsible for delivering integrated solutions to customers in a variety of different fields. MSC Cruises Appoint Gianni Onorato CEO

Gianni Onorato will become the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective 2 September 2013. With almost 30 years’ experience in the cruise industry, Onorato has a thorough understanding of the cruise business and extensive experience in senior executive leadership, serving as President of Costa Crociere for over nine years. He graduated from the Istituto Orientale of Naples with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures in 1983, and specialized in business administration at SDA Bocconi in Milan and INSEAD in Fontainebleau.

Justh Appointed to Odyssey Board of Directors

Odyssey Marine Exploration, a company in the field of deep-ocean shipwreck and offshore mineral exploration, appointed Mark B. Justh to its board of directors. The appointment adds a seat to the board, bringing the total number of directors to seven, including five independent directors. Justh previously served for 12 years at JP Morgan. There he was a managing director and head of Pan Asian Equities Distribution in Hong Kong. During his tenure at JP Morgan he was also responsible for Cash Equities Distribution in the Americas. Prior to JP Morgan, he was a partner at a startup fund in the media space, HPJ Media Ventures/DeNovo Capital. Earlier in his career, he was a vice president at Goldman Sachs International in International Equities. Justh holds a B.A.

Anthony Chiarello, president and CEO of TOTE, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the SHIPPINGInsight 2013 Fleet Optimization Conference, Oct. 22-24 in Stamford, Conn. Prior to TOTE, Inc., the largest of five operating groups owned by Seattle-based Saltchuk Resources, Inc., which includes five companies organized in maritime, logistics and ship management lines of business, Chiarello, was the COO and executive vice president at NYK Logistics (Americas), Inc. Prior to NYK, Chiarello was with the AP Moller/Maersk organization for 16 years.

Jensen Awarded SNAME’s David W. Taylor Medal

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) awarded their highest honor, the David W. Taylor Medal for notable achievement in naval architecture or marine engineering, to ABS Senior Vice President of Technology Peter Tang-Jensen at the society’s Annual Banquet during the SNAME Annual Meeting and Expo in Seattle, Wash. A well-respected member of the maritime community with more than 35 years of experience in shipbuilding design and engineering, Tang-Jensen has been providing strategic leadership for the classification society’s research and product development efforts since 2006. The ABS technology leader and former Executive Vice President of Odense Steel Shipyard, Ltd.
