Petrobras Eyes Restart at FPSOs Hit by Coronavirus

Brazilian state-run oil firm Petrobras plans to restart operations in the coming days at two ships used in offshore oil production that suffered coronavirus outbreaks, an executive told journalists during a call on Friday.Petrobras Exploration and Production Director Carlos Alberto de Oliveira said operations at the Cidade de Santos should restart over the weekend, and operations at the Capixaba should restart within 10 days. Both are large ships known as FPSOs.Brazil's offshore oil industry has been hit hard by the novel coronavirus.

Keppel Clinches Petrobras & Saipem Contracts

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard) and Keppel Verolme BV (Keppel Verolme), has secured two contracts worth a total of about $165m. The first project, secured by Keppel Shipyard from repeat customer Petrobras Netherlands B.V (PNBV), is for the pre-conversion of P-58, a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Campos Basin. The second project involves the repair and modification of the semisubmersible pipelay vessel, Castoro Sei for Saipem S.p.A (Saipem) by Keppel Verolme.

Keppel Awarded 3 Projects

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard) and Keppel FELS Brasil SA (Keppel FELS Brasil), has secured three contracts worth a total of about S$300m. The first two projects, secured by Keppel Shipyard from repeat customers, are for the construction of a derrick lay barge and the modification of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The third project is awarded by a new customer, Noble Drilling (Nederland) B.V., to Keppel FELS Brasil, through BrasFELS, for the completion of a deep drilling semisubmersible (semi).

Keppel Delivers FPSO

Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), a unit of Keppel Corporation Limited through Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has delivered FPSO Capixaba, with a conversion contract value of over S$90 million. The 13-month fast-track project is the sixth Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO/FSO) conversion project for Keppel Shipyard from Single Buoy Moorings (SBM), member of the SBM Offshore N.V. Group, since 2000. The work scope on the former Stena Congress includes installation and integration of topside modules; the fabrication and installation of the internal turret, flare tower, piperack and helideck; and installation of a hose reel at the stern for offloading to export vessels.
